Had a good talk with Oyster today, & he was really helpful.....
but its basically that they (MNZ) dont want 20 year old bikes whippin' the new ones ....may affect the importers of the new bikes wanting to support the class if older & possibly gruntier, rule. Its a class for the future with the onus being on newer 250's. ( I am not slagging MNZ)
He also mentioned that there is something like 12 different models of VTR's & it would be a nightmare to police,so grey imports just make it harder.
    Which I can understand.
It also brings up the point that even if I could race , & that no one would really have a problem with that, what if I started getting placings ahead of Homologated bikes....could be a can of worms & people would have the right to complain & get technical...
So Im going to do a trackday for a start,Oyster is going to have a chat to the committe for me & see if I may be able to do at least a few rounds before the rules come into force in the new year sometime...
Oyster also pointed out that I could do the cams meets & enter pre89...
All is not lost, but hey wont be quite the same...might have to review my plans

Its a bit of a shit that you cant race the older bikes cause as you say they would quite probably hone out the newer shitter models, BUT based on the argument I think its probably fair, policing the numerous models would be a bugger and you are right, it would make the manufacturers look ghey as fuck if 20 yr old hardware was smoking their brand new "250 sportbikes". lol.

Good luck to the racers, and yes chaos too..

    You can.
There is a guy who has entered the first and 4th rounds of the Vic winter series.

EDIT: The streetstock rules even allow linited mods such as cams on 150 four strokes.

Hurry the fuck up. I just got the spada painted in damp weather in 2 pack acrathane, that takes two days to cure. I think you are full of shit again, I work aroung this stuff every day and know it doesn't take this long. Stop stroking it and do something ffs. If they use ppg 2k paint it is a 2-1 paint to hardener mix, acrathane is 4-1 and takes longer to cure and mine took a day and a half in damp weather. Get out there and race, no excuses, we won't be suprised when you STILL have a fuckin hyosung.

We will hold you to that dear child. You may spend a bit more than $100 on carb mods. As far as I am aware there is a dynojet kit for your bike, may be worth looking at one of them, or getting them custom done, the problem with custom jobs is you only have one set of jets so if they fuck them you're screwed. Will be good to see the bike up and going, ignoring all the shit I give you I am actually curious to see how good you can make a pile of shit.

    thanks

na the main reasen they took so long was inexpieriance and bad quality paint. i work for a plastic welder on and off, hes also a good friend so i went and did my mods with him. needless to say it was a big learning expieriance.

um it should be a set of customs for around 200 but im not sure if i should till after i go to aus.

just have to tiedy my room and put the fairings back on the bike so ill have the pics up before 4 if not tonightwhen i get back from work

edit: the specialist is an old freind of petes ( the plastic welder) and he said he could do them for me with some help and free labour and 200 lol but i leave with a set of custom mods and some knowledge and exp from a pro/legend
