I'm part of the community and I fucking HATE rugby. So, no, it's not "fair enough". I also object to part of my rates going toward rugby fields and my ACC levies going toward fixing up dickheads who bash themselves and each other to bits every Saturday. They're a bunch of fucktards. Let rugby players be self funding and self insured.

That's what fundraising is for. Those rugby homo's get it gift wrapped. Half of them are idiots who've been imported for no other reason than to give the first eleven a chance of winning. When they arrested Jan Molenar, that's got to make a few people feel a little safer, a little more protected... They're doing a service for the community. Funding sporting opportunities for the community is also helping out.

The lever thing has happened, I did not abuse my wife, workmates, children, or dog.

Some folks, and I know a couple of these types, you could not do worse by if you turned up, raped their wife, kids, dog, and cat, then set fire to their house, and used their car test for thermite's cutting action.

That is not pride or passion, I will say again, its a game played by professional players (they are paid to to do this) not a war it does not in any way stop the world from rotating or cost you anything, unless you gamble on it. Do you think for an instance that the players feel upset that they let you down in losing like f&*k they do, they have enough difficulty in some cases understanding why it was wrong for Tony Veitch to break his girlfriends back mind you that could be a steriod abuse thing as well.

Ahh and in there is the question how much of the revenue raised from the issuing of traffic infringement notices actually goes back into the community in the form of education of road users, it would be hard to prove what if any as it goes back into the general fund, dam sure 40k spent on rugby sponsorship could be better spent in motorist education or even as a research grant to attempt to discover what it would take to improve motorists habits.

I would bet there are a few cops out there in these forums who are shaking their heads at the thought of 40k wasted in this manner, especially when they could come up with 101 better uses for it that would have far wider benefit.

The police, of all people, shouldn't be sponsoring anybody! They're always bleating on about how underfunded they are. Maybe it's all a smoke screen to cover their inadequacies and poor job performance. (Wouldn't it be nice to be able to blame all the world's screwups on a lack of funding?)

The police sponsoring rugby teams is akin to local councils getting into property speculation. It's not what they are there for and not what they are paid to do.
