To an extent, yes; however, you still have to be able to service that HP, which could require a higher income. Could someone on a student allowance get an RSV4 (about $44k) on HP and afford the repayments?
Well it all depends to me on how you wish to spend your money, I know a guy that wears jandells and shorts most days and tootles round in an old Hilux but he has the choice of his Ason Martin or MV Augusta in the garage when he wants to have fun when you seem him in the 1996 Hilux worth about 5K is he rich or not.

Why would you want to show that you have a high income only means you have more bludgers round you and people try to charge you more nothing else

I know a lot of people who just want to appear the ‘norm’, they drive around in old cars [or bikes etc] and they are worth more than a bull can shit. theres an old saying, ‘its easier to get $10 out of someone thats broke than it is to get it out of a millionaire‘.

Mate...I love my bike and it's almost 20 years old! A classic GSXR1100! People either ride what they are happy with or what they can afford. I earn a fair bit but couldn't justify spending 30K on a bike (my personal pref). I get heaps of fun out of my old gixxer and wouldn't have it any other way.

I say if people have been giving you a hard time on KB then report them and write them off as wankers. Just my 2c.

I think bikes are the sort of sport/hobby that is class-less in my mind. I would never judge someone by the sort of bike they ride as to whether they are rich or not, it just does not work like that.
Though i do find people who have flash bikes in my town, you never see them out riding, i would always throw the question to these people, well, how many kilometers have you done? They daren't try there bullshit on me.

Sure, some may not do THAT many km.

But like me they may have other bikes, a classic car, a hot-rod and a 'bomb'
Spread the miles amongst them and it will still add up to quite a few miles throughout the year.

True, true, each to there own and thats what makes it interesting, proud owners with flash bikes, owners who love there old bikes, its all about riding and being part of motorbike ownership, as long as the smile is on the dial.

I am the same- have a 1990 same as KGB- we go out on em together- also have a Ducati that is a little more valuable but far from 30k lol
My bikes or my car show no reflection on my earnings at all - they reflect what I enjoy and will utilise as best I can
    Just ride.
