    WANGAS TOMCC Charity Ride

Info up on Wangas Charity ride. Thanks to new member Mike. 1800 cruiser?

    Wanganui Tomcc Charity Ride.
Here's the details of this years ride. We're raising money for the maternity ward at Wanganui Hospital. It was brought to our attention that they're in need of a second Electronic Breast Pump valued at $2700.00 as their other one was stolen some time ago.Thats the recipient for this year.
Ride date.30th August {Sunday} wet or fine.
Registration is at the Wanganui Motor Boat Clubrooms {Tomcc clubrooms}Anzac parade from 9am with the ride departing at 10-30am
    Cost.$10.00 per bike.
Destination.Ohingaiti Pub just out of Hunterville. There we will have lunch followed by a mini auction of goods and services donated by local business.
Departure.I would think around 2-30 3 oclock where we will head back to the clubrooms for a debreif {a few beers in other words}.
Backup vehicle. We will have a vehicle with trailer in case of any problems.
A mobile coffee bus will be at the clurooms on the Sunday morning should anyone require coffee before we leave.
    cheers mike

The weather forecast for Sunday 23 august is looking pretty good.

I checked Valley Road today near Colyton today. There are still roadworks so instead of turning left at Colyton we'll just carry on to Ashurst, turning sharp left at the bottom of the hill into North Street.

See you all 10.00 a.m. BP Feilding.

If I come, that's where I'll be too. Don't wait, might have something else on the go so not sure I'm coming yet.

A nice run today. Thanks everyone for making it a great day. Pemberton road was a nice variation. Bugger about the flat bandit (1200) on the road. Low point was we went out with 3 Alistairs and only came back with 2, One of our riders taking a tumble and hitting the road. It doesn't look too bad, nice leathers bud rib cage is a bit painful. So he got a free ambo ride .... eventually.

When I know more on his status I will let you know.

Oh and funny award goes to Monamie. LOL. Riding at the back. Going slow???

Thanks 3Dkiwi for a great day out.

A most excellent day for riding. The highlights for me were the Apiti loop, chasing Cowboyz through to Pemberton, my ride on the Connie and chasing Cowboyz and Sarge back over Vinegar Hill.

Really sorry about Alistair, hope he's OK.

An email from Alistair (the 3rd)

    Hi All

Not flash for me yesterday. Still don't know what happened. The front was diving a bit under braking. All I remember was the front ducking in and a front washout. Its possible the brakes locked, new brake pads?

Anyways I am fine except for bruising and a broken rib, hurts like a bitch though. Got to sleep sitting up can't breathe to hard, cough or
    laugh

Good to hear that the rest of the ride was okay. I still have to pick up the bike, its pretty battered.

    Cheers for now

    Alastair
