They clip on to the grip, and are designed in such a way that pressure on it from the palm of your hand tightens it on the grip, so it doesn't come loose. To use it, you rest the heel of you hand on it, so you can relax your grip and rest your hand when on long, straight roads.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Depends how and where and what you ride. Some folks love them. Wouldn't be without.

I reckon they are a nuisance.

    I have the same model.
I use it because my right hand is full of scar tissue from Dupuytrens Contracture surgery. Without this accessory, I would be able to ride only for short periods due to the narrow throttle grip. Sustained closed hand position causes the whole hand to go numb - no sensation left. The throttle buddy stops this completely. So no, I would not be without mine either. Heated grips make things even more comfortable...

A chap I know, bought one before heading off around the South Island. He said it was the best $10- he ever spent.
Easy to remove when not needed.

I have one - I took it off recently because it is a bit of a nuisance for commuting around Auckland. I kinda like it on longer rides though - it was good when I went down to Winchester in the South Island and back.

Basically what happens is that you get sick of gripping the throttle after a few hours and the throttle rocker lets you rest your palm on it and you can give your hand a break from gripping the throttle.

    I got mine from here:

I use one on longer rides too, got it on Trade Me, stops me from holding the throttle too tight and getting cramp..you can straighten your fingers out and stretch them a bit, and still keep your speed even

I used various kinds of Throttlerocker for quite a long time and was quite happy with them, except you have to be careful they can't rotate into a position where they stop the brake lever from coming all the way back (don't ask me how I know).

I then discovered the Throttlemeister (http://www.throttlemeister.com/) and can't recommend it highly enough.
