It's Microsoft. In ten minutes time that'll go down to 1 hour and 20 minutes to go. Then in another 30 minutes, back up to 7 days 14 hours to go. Rinse lather repeat.

And you can get 1 TB drives cheap as chips now.

    It's called "Windows Minutes"

Here's how you do it properly, and receive the same amount of storage space.
2x320GB drives in Raid0 (OS and install drive)
2x320GB drives in Raid1 (Documents and Collectables Drive)
Then two big drives for everything else.

There's one 1TB drive in there. Hiding.

I bought it for less than what I paid for my first 40GB drive I bought back when I was a nipper.

I would have bought a second one by now, except I've run out of names.

Still have yet to kill a harddrive. Even my old 4GB drive with Windows 3.1 on it still works. Even after I put a hole in the top and glued a little plastic window over it so I could see it spinning.

That screenshot was taken before I swapped the drive letters around to match the names. F is currently unassigned.

Those recommending raid 0... you realise you're increasing the odds of losing your data... 3 disc, triple the chance.

Sure, you may not have lost a drive yet... I have.

2x 320gb in raid 1 for primary, and 4x 1tb in raid 5 is my set up.

    I used to run a eight-drive RAID5 array.

    Until Squiggles killed it.

Got a 10 drive raid 6 with 1.5tb drives at work.

Cost for home would be ... prohibitive
