May be able to meet up with yas. Will see later on in the week. How old is said commando & are you riding the scrambler back? Cobb would be a great ride in.
Not sure what else over there would be suitable for the Norton - not sure what it's capabilties are. It's been pissing down here lately so anything not open & North facing is pretty sloppy.
apparently the Norton (early 70's) has done the Capital Coast Adv (so has the Scrambler - 2 up). I think it has knobblies and the scrambler has E09/TKC combo but most probably sensible to stick with the milder end of things....
I think I'm riding the Norton but don't really know/mind. The scrambler is one sweet bike on open smooth gravel.
Someone better get vid or at least pics of this, & I don't mean of Marks arse.
I was thinking seriously of hiding in the bushes near padmeis bog with a camera, but then remembered that marks is more likely to do something camera worthy if he knows one is there.
Should be able to make it , but am in Auckland(oooo) till friday so things could change. (as they do)
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
I'll see if the boy will "lend" me his klr for saturday.........
if not I have cable ties and duct tape, could hang im from the rafters in the shed, but I wouldn't dream of smacking him

So I've got a rock & a bog on the Maunga - Wow I own that track
Looks like Sat may be a goer. Bring the KLR Jatz - I wouldn't mind a go on it to see if one would be good for Mrs Padmei.
Apart from the Cobb & East Takaka rd I don't really know any other places over there apart from the road to the cafe @ Farewell spit. Marks you got any ideas of where you want to go to?
Ummm, try Harwoods Hole, Mt Arthur, Dovedale hill, Sunday Creek, Sherry River Rd, Whangapeka flats..... ya don't have to go too far for some good gravel.
Cobb dam would be ok if you're over Takaka way, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Too far from Nelson (wow, a whole 100km) when there's better stuff closer to home.
apparently ferry bookings have been made so its looking like its a happening thing.
I'm guessing we'd be ready to leave Nelson 10ish on Sat morning and it appears we are staying at the Nook Guesthouse at Pohara Beach on Sat night so we are happy to follow yous guys around all day as long as we end the day at Pohara Beach.
Cobb could be done on Sun morning en route to the Maungatapu on Sunday I spose?
Jatz - I don't think we should ride over the takaka hill together - it might not promote safe riding practices
And Nordieboy - settle down - no route planning to maximise photo opportunities![]()
