Look at every single bike fatality over the last decade and then tell me how many of them were on scooters.

    Right, Point proven I think.

Losing some skin (even on your feet) is far less likely to kill. Though there is no doubt barefoot is pretty stupid.......

Now, if that scooter was capable of instant acceleration, a top speed of between 200 to 300km/h and was common place on NZ's most dangerous roads then the story would be different.

What is your point .... Those who take off skin cost acc a fortune ... Those who die cost far less ... You don't have to have a huge accident which is at speed to cost a fortune.

I finally know what ATGATT is! Wooohoooo!

True story - a widow friend of mine with children, lost her man, whipping up the road to drop a video off. She never saw him again. It happens.

Daily Transport on a Bike, (IMO) is even more so of a reason to be ATGATT.

My hubby rode the Guzzi to work often, daily in the Summer, in full leathers, a full face helmet, boots, and an oilskin. Light on.
Mind you, on the preface to his demise, ATGATT didn't prevent something long and thin, passing through the layers, through the body, through the lung, and out the back of the layers too. Not pretty.

The point is that riding a scooter in bare feet is safer then riding a large road bike in full gear, so what gives anyone the right to be all high and mighty when they are doing shit far more likely to cause major injury and death in the event they fuck it up.

Well this all comes down to the fact that we, as riders, shouldn't ride at all due to ACC claims and costing the tax payer more money. Had an argument about this in class the other week, and me being the only rider, everyone decided to have a go, but after i told them the biggest danger on the road was them in their cages, silence dominated.

Point is, if we'r going to base all the arguments for ATGATT on simply ACC costs and tax payer money, then it's inevitable that we shouldn't ride motorbikes or scooters at all due to that same reason. Best to just think of it as 'tough love'. Despite all the ego bashing, we shud watch each others backs.

Get one of those stebel nautilus's, activate to eliminate any extraneous noise. Best results achieved by activating said stebel and cupping a hand to ones ear (or thereabouts on a helmet) to illustrate the lack of hearing.

Mate, are you the Grinch who stole Xmas? Are you this much fun normally?

I'd just like to point out, that for about 80% of the time communting in Auckland traffic, scooters are doing the same speed I am (although they don't do it on the back wheel as much, granted) on my slightly modified Vespa GSXR.

Now, sit back, relax, have a shit or a beer. A frown is a smile turned upside down and all that shit.

Shit, I thought he was spot on.

I would suggest that one of the greatest dangers is motorcyclists buying into the bullshit that car drivers are our greatest danger.
