Wait so they indicated right heading into the roundabout...i assume you were opposite them. Ok now it makes sense. They conveniently forgot to stop indicating right. Ok that is annoying. When going straight I don't indicate when entering the roundabout then indicate left before i exit...simple

They should never have started. You only indicate right when entering a roundabout if you're going more than halfway around, but even then as soon as you're past the exit before the one you're taking, you indicate left.

I struggle to understand why so many people can't grasp this fucking simple, fucking logical concept.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

These guys have obviously read their road codes... This is how it says indicators should be used at roundabouts.

Yep, it's hazzardous alright. Usually, the plants are just high enough that you can't see the indicators until they're upon you! Town planners and greenies

I do this to let anyone coming from the left entrance of the roundabout know that I am going to cross their path and that I am not just failing to indicate.I then indicate left to leave the roundabout.I've supplied all the infomation about my path and hopefully no one will attempt to kill me.

You like many kiwi driver idiots don't realise that you only need to giveway if you will obstruct the path of the other driver.
No need to give way to someone on the other side of the fucking roundabout,or for that matter someone 500 metres up the fucking road.

What I thought he meant is indicating at all.... cos most people don't actuly indicate at all going through....

Nice one with the name calling. Good way to get your point across, just call somebody an idiot. The whole point I'm making is that you can't tell that somebody's not going to cross your path if they are indicating to suggest that they will. And the other side of the roundabout isn't that far away if they're coming at you at 70km/h.

Bling! Correct. Drivers who indicate right REALLY annoy me no end. Slows the flow of traffic.

These stupid rules that were introduced at roundabouts and are now law!!

But you wanna try crossing the road at the only crossing - a roundabout! And the amount of jolly cars that indicate (so you don't cross), and they have no intention of turning (wankers!)

I only indicate when I turn right or left - which is the way I believe it jolly well should be

what are the specifics on the indicate left as exit rule, cos in palmy theres a few roundabout that are pretty safe to almost straighline at 50kmhr, giving about 0.3s in which the window of indicating is ope, and my old bimetalic strip indicator sometimes takes a second or two just to start flashing. Whats the deal there, and before i get "slow down rossi'd" even at 20kmhr theres bugger all ime to inidcate, specially when doing more important things such as changing gears.

    This is the rules now.

Used to be you had to indicate right till about half way through then indicate left to get off.

Now they have made it just indicate left to get off. that makes more sense than it used to.

Yeah, people making their own interpretation of the rules will make things better.

I reckon it'll take a generation or two to properly flush the confusion out of the NZ drivers brain. Another good reason for Geene-O-Kleen maybe?
