Exactly. And what kind of position is the prime target in to defend themselves in court anyway? The judge would shit on them just on appearance alone, not to mention the capital needed to defend oneself.

i think the cops do not have enough powers, and need to have a few more, the truth is they are not feared enough, if you new you were going to get maced or smacked with a paddy stick if you did not listen to them you wold have far less problems with out of control crowds,

and the term innocent bystander is a subjective, if someone is sitting watching and encouraging anti social or illegal behaviour in my opinion they are not that innocent.

I think someone needs to grow some balls. You're basically saying that you're too wimp to defend yourself or even put some effort into the notion, and yet you expect someone witnessing thier pairs commiting crime to intervene? As if you would. Take some boxing lessons or something. Trust me, the cops aren't anywhere near as tough as you seem to think they are. Best bet is get hard, and depend only on yourself. The law is always there if you need it, cops or no cops.

i am not saying they should intervene at all, i am saying that if you are watching, then don't get the fuck out of the way when directed to you are not innocent,

cops are not anything special, they are normal people with a job to do, and they are under resourced alot of the time to do that job,

Dont know how old you are but if you have ever been at Long Bay Beach on a Friday when the cops turn up you will know what i mean.

Riot squad with battens. "Run motherfucker" if that doesnt motivate you to move your ass i dont know what will.

If they turned up at 9 and you are still there at 10 you must be a little thick too. If a cop asks you to do something,whether in the right or the wrong i think you would do it. Especially if you were/are drinking in a pubic place.

I know that its only hypothetical but i dont see anything wrong with it
