Flame warrior nominations are often used to send a message and even when sent in jest that message is still pretty obvious. A 'dig' or by the popular KB moderators language 'abuse'.

Maybe it's not fat then that's making my leathers harder to keep done up - I might just be growing extra layers of my own hide then. I used to be such a sensitive little thing. Sigh.

There are a few dedicated sites that hold genuine flame competitions and even cash prizes. They aren't for the faint hearted... seen people (who think they are hard men) come apart at the seams over the interwobble at these sites... it can run over into real life. The butthurt have been known to travel to other countries in an attempt to extract revenge for being made fools of. It's actually pretty sad.

Most of what is posted ain't pretty, but by christ there is some real writing talent amongst some of the leading flamers. The imagination of some is astounding. However most of the original legends have given it away... it gets boring after a while. It all started back in the days of usenet at alt.flames

Thank you to all of you that are happily playing this silly game. As someone has already pointed out, the flame warrior awards on this site are tame by comparison to some.

It seems however that there is a reluctance to vote for some nominees. Perhaps they have a bit of a reputation for dishing out red rep (it wont kill you if they do, I promise) dont let that stop you. Get stuck in! Give it heaps! Here is your chance to really tell them how you feel

I also notice that some nominees are actually really, really shy, and can not bring themselves to make an acceptance speech. For heavens sake, dont be so pathetic, take a leaf out of Katmans book if you have nothing nice to say about being nominated

Come on guys, it is a silly flame nomination that means squat diddly! Consider it an honour that someone has noticed you.

Over all though, I am delighted to see so many playing the game in the spirit I intended. Who knows if it is shown that there is nothing abusive about receiving a nomination, we may find they are used instead of other less savoury ways.

If you feel someone is worthy of an award, nominate them and see if others agree. Bit of fun, and maybe a bit of non abusive critisism to boot!
