Haha what a great stunt, good on ya, thats a laugh.

I can't really see any public good from takin ya to court, with the exception of the fact that you will keep the plod in question off the roads for a day or so while he prepares the case and shows up in court.

    And thats worth $20.

I think we would all like to know more details on the legal side of things.

I think the not guilty plead is fruitless (though not saying you actually did it!)
I think the way to go would be the circumstances around it and actually contest the dangerous side of things - who was the victim?
People jump out of aeroplanes and skydive - they dont get taken to court!

Johno have you been done for dangerous/careless/reckless before? If not, diversion could be a way to go.

Definately seek legal help, you gotta have a mate of a mate somewhere who can give you some advice before spending $$ trying to defend.

I would get a lawyer for a charge of dangerous.
The lawyer who defened my dangerous charge was from the tron and quite reasonably priced. It wouldn't cost FA for a bit of advice.

Reference Land Transport Act 1998 No 110
The "on a road" bit was amended out in 2005.
    (2) A person may not drive a motor vehicle, or cause a motor vehicle to be driven, at a speed or in a manner which, having regard to all the circumstances, is or might be dangerous to the public or to a person.

Definitely plead not guilty. However IMHO a better defense (than I didn't do it) would be to show that in the circumstances you identified the risks then mitigated them effectively. Training, preparation, weather, equipment, your experience and any safety precautions taken on the day might swing it. Was this in fact dangerous or a carefully planned and executed stunt?

You have admitted doing the stunt.
There is video of you afterwards, admitting doing the stunt.

Your only possibility is to plead gulity to doing the stunt but not to dangerous charges. The time of day would have helped ensure a lack of public around, hence making a safer environment.

I doubt there is a warning sign, saying "no riding motorbikes over the arches" or something like that. I would guess that a sign saying "no pedestrians / no walking over the arches" or similar exists?
You did not walk over the bridge, so complied with that requirement...

    Defense in a nutshell:

"Your honour, I am a Mormon. As such, I diligently wear my magic underpants whenever attempting a stunt like this, and Mormon doctirne states that you cannot be physically harmed while wearing the magic underpants. As a demonstration of this fact, and since i am wearing the magic pannts right this minute, I invite you to try and kick me in the balls right now...go on."

If that works, he gets off...if not, well the stunt was good, and if notoriety is what you're after...

Just don't tell your cell mate what you're in for, or you'll become a bitch faster than a puppy having a sex change.

In an unusual twist of events ..... I thought the whole stunt was you claiming to be Carver, you shouldn't really claim to be someone else who you don't know that did that actual stunt

I always wanted to be someone else too....., like you, pity I never succeeded in doing that.... never mind.

Can't believe the law actually thought it was you, they are so gullible

Yea, skill and bravery for sure.

BUT the difference is that the stunt riders you mention organise it so the cops and local body authorities are notified.

Also ambo's are on site should they be needed.
The media would've rocked up and the whole of NZ would've been watching. This is the fauxpah.

Don't give Bob a hardtime mate, he hangs off the sidecar at phenominal pace on the track. He actually IS a Legend. Scrivy his rider is 6x NZ champ.
Did you go to Paeroa this year? If so, I rest my case.
