i was looking foward to this round and racing with the south islanders.
Qualifying
was hoping to get a good place on the grid which didn't happen. on the friday i noticed the right foot peg was angled down a bit but didn't thinkk much of it. went out for qualifying and on the first timed lap the foot peg broke off on the entry to splash and i headed for the gravel trap(thank you to Mel on the quad for picking that up for me). kept the big upright. ended up 39th on the grid.
Race 1
got the foot peg fixed. the foot peg we put was for the oppostie side so didn't fit properly. got an alright start. my foot kept slipping of the foot peg and towards the end of the race the brakes started fading.
after the race we bleed the brakes and took the broken foot peg back to where we were staying to get it welded back together.
Race 2
got an alright start had a battle with Matt Hoogenboezem for most of the race. i saw we were closing on Alex #41 so i pushed a bit harder to catch him and i did with matt following me. matt passed me back on the last lap going into higgins and i tried passing him back going round dunlop but i couldn't manage it and finished just behind him.
The brakes were much better and the foot peg felt as good as new
Race 3
had an alright start. got held up a few times by Andrew Croft. going into turn 1 Helen Pasco out braked me only to run wide and let me back past and get on with trying to pass andrew and then catch up with matt. i passed andrew then started chasing down matt. i was knew i vwas faster around turn 1 and into spalsh, so i was ready to make the pass when i saw the yellow falg come out and i had to back off. i ended up passing him under brakes and held him off.
It was a great weekend and good to race the south islanders again. can't wait until i get to race them again.
