You'd think the dude with the Heritage would know enough to get it's displacement correct if he thought it was worth 22K.

That Deluxe does look a good price as well. Love'n it in that colour too.

I think it comes down to how serious people are about selling. There's a lot on there that just get relisted over and over. But you are right, there are some real bargains. My bike was one. 2006 and paid less than a lot of the mid 90s bikes are asking. I think it's definitely still a buyers market.

I'll say Rosie! We're about to spend more than that Deluxe costs on a bloody kitchen! Can't ride it around and tinker with it though can I. Bugger.

You know whats a joke...the price of used v rods. You can get a 2006 m109r with low ks for 15k but ya cant get a bloody 2003 vrod with good ks for less that 20k.

And out of all cruisers the v rod is what floats my boat, and I want one, specifically I want a night rod special. I dont care if it has no ground clearence, it floats my boat and my boat is like the fucking titanic, thats how cool that bike is.

I would settle for a v rod though but nooooo the prices are ridiculous. I guess I will just have to covet one for now along with the neighbours wife.

What harley needs to focus on is well prices cruiser that has enough oomph to go somewhere without breaking the bank.

    tantrum over.

Another point is some people are always after particular models that aren't made any more.

For example a good (if you can find it) low mileage (yeah right) FXRS-SP will get good bucks, simply because the followers will swear black and blue it's the best handling big block ever built.

Just keep looking mate. When I was looking to buy there was a 2006 V Rod sold for 13,000 on tard me. Sounded like a genuine sale, guy just desperate for cash. Listed it at $1 reserve I think. Mate of mine sold his 2008 V Rod for 20grand bout 6 months ago. Same thing. Just had to sell for whatever he could get for it.

And there are less popular models out there too. The last Springer they did (with the 16" front wheel - nostalgic looking thing - not the x-bones but the classy one about two years ago - can't remember the model name). That's a bloody nice bike but it's a really slow mover for the dealer. Second hand prices should be good. The Deluxe is a nice bike too but maybe a bit 'bling' for me.

I give it a month before you are upgrading the taps to a spunky chrome ones and putting in a big-bore drain pipe

Kitchen Bling - it's nowhere as much fun

Probably the big question is - what are you doing looking at Harleys again so soon .......... maybe it's not Driving that's in the blood but Harleys!

Oh, I dunno... I'd have all sorts of bikes if I had the money. Haven't really given the Speedmaster a chance as work / home / weather etc. seem to conspire to keep me off the bloody thing. I like Evo Harleys but an unadulterated one is hard to find and there are only a few models I'd go for. An '02 Twin Cam would be good (timken bottom end) but which one? I'm just daydreaming really. No harm in looking...

Yeah - I'm always looking on TM, window shopping I call it. I'll need a bigger shed if my lotto numbers come in.

I think in general bike prices in the private market are all over the place depending on the sellers personal circumstances - you'll find my own ride (Honda Hornet) on there from insultingly cheap (I bet the dealers snap these up) to ridiculously over priced (as in higher than I paid for mine brand new 2 years ago!).

And I reckon that's a fucken good price too. Question, is that the stock headlight? From the pics it looks to sit quite a long way forward.

I guess it doesn't help that new prices have come down so much.
