My first >250 = Triumph America

    Hi all.

I have been milling around on the 250 forums for a while but have finally made the leap to my full licence.

I went down to Holeshot and picked myself up an 04 Triumph America in perfect condition with Thunderbike pipes which sound really good.

Im enjoying it so far and im very happy I didn't get a sportbike, the temptation to speed and subsequently loose my licence or worse is strong at my age and I hardly need the encouragement of a machine designed for nothing but that.

I would like to get out for some rides with experienced riders sometime so if anyone knows of some clubs or meets that would suit a new rider please let me know.

    Many congrats.

A very stylish piece of kit.

Do yourself a big favour and get a bit of coaching for this much bigger bike.

I am close to Holeshot myself and would be happy to meet up for a chat and a spin.

DMCD, Take YD's offer, he's a good guy

I might tag along for something like that too, sorry I havn't yet YD, been swamped getting the new flat sorted/break up etc.

Got an offer from Trustme (A fellow Scrambler owner on the shore) for a spin on the back roads lol

Though this weekend might be booked, I can do Sunday I think

Oh yea, the America, nice bike And you have the Thunderbike exhausts on it, wicked, they sound mean on my old man's 08' America

Haha, did that quick ride on my GSXR1000 put you off David?

Cool bike dude, look forward to seeing some pics!

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Cheers Indy. I'll be up for a coffee and a ride. This weekend isn't good, but I am sure the weekends will soon start to get more appealing.

TBH I loved the ride on the gixr so I plan on getting a crash damaged 250 or 400 sport bike to do up and take to the track and just leave the roads for cursing.
