    My pleasure.
I actually thought the word grubbing was a tad more subtle!

This thread actually highlights something that is not always fully realised by many spectataors / casual observers and also many racers, the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes and also at the coalface for the passion and in fact no monetary return.
Engine builders like Dave Cole, Brian Bernard and Chris Osbourne will into the wee small hours spend literally hundreds of man hours building engines for their team riders, totally unpaid. Also trackside. In the bigger economies people are paid to do so.
In our own case as one small example of many over the years we have during the winter series further developed suspension settings on the Team Honda CBRs and now we are just as engaged getting the GSXR1000K9 up to speed. Aside from components this work is TOTALLY UNPAID. So much is taken for granted and if you consider the ratio of input to return for motorcycle distributors, accessory distributors and specialists it doesnt really stack up. That is why I take exception to stupid comments of '' money grabbing '' etc

Still undecided as to if Sams issue is over not getting the drive out of corners was due to the power delivery of the R6 compared to Glens GSXR and different riding style. That and the fact Sam has not even been on the 600 long and may be trying to snap the throttle on a bit too aggressively like he could do with the SV.

When you look at the Superbikes they where 1 second off Nationals lap record pace but Sam and Glen where both around 2 seconds off Nationals pace. So I would think both riders will be aiming to go around a second faster in these conditions and 2 seconds faster if track conditions are ideal in the summer.

Great to have young consistantly fast riders like Sam and Glen and looks like we are in store for more close and interesting racing. Get along to the next round on the 17th people as the racing has been good and best of all spectating is free!

Slicks versus Treads might have had a little bit to do with what you noticed, but as you say, Sam has not been on his 600 a lot as yet, and Glenn is riding the wheels of his well set up Ohlin's equipt bike, all internall work done by (CKT)

Sam's bike did have the better Top speed though, and so it should for it;s vintage compared to Glenn's bike

100% agree with the last Paragraph

I bet if you did an informal vote of the entire prison population theyd predominantly vote for the political system that pampers them the most, and thats left of centre.!!!!

It may be easy to over look what we have in NZ, with Denis and Robert on hand to revalve shocks or forks (in 20 minutes or so) at the track. You can really make some fast progress.
I never had such a good service available in all my 14yrs racing overseas. That's including WSB & 500GP's. I don't know what arrangement CKT has with Suzuki but I've never been asked for a cent!!
    Seriously appreciated Robert / Denis

This thread just keeps getting better and better.

And what's better, it doesn't matter if you're New Zealands longest standing current professional racer, or a total newbie to the sport OR not even using the product sold. You get EXACTLY the same service. And all it cost me was the purchase of a rear shock and a front cartridge kit.

Even better than dude, with riders like Andrew Stroud, Heyden Fitz, Craig Shirrif's etc, CKT are learning new tricks all the time, which I know Robert/Dennis pass on to who ever they think will benifit from it! NOT who they just choose to, there are NO real secrets kept???????

I know this is the style of Robert's, as I always as an ex fastish rider, used to do a lot of testing and development riding, and used to argue like --ck with him, about passing on the development feal that I had decided was good for the bike and tyres way back when, Really hated that, but he does do it, I think I may have even begged him to hold on to info for at least 1 round, so I gained the advantage that I thought I had earned, but NO, being the DTR at it this game with very high passion and commitment to it, all got it!!!

You know what you are Taylor

Wicked, I have just sent my forks and shock up to Robert, I was half expecting to have to pay!

But seriously Robert and Dennis to tireless work at the track. Andrew summed it up well in his post. I always make a point to thank CKT for everything cos I wouldn't be going fast if it wasn't for them.
Not that I go fast at all!

You weight til you try the brakes mate, they have developed a brilliant set up for that now, I have watched the development of it, and the riders gains from it at all the Vic rounds bit by bit so far this year, bloody impressive late breaking mate

Lol. you really like to be an argumentitive bugger, don't ya Garry.

    All good though, I'll bite.

In this instance, I'm sure the complete oposite is quite true. For example, Roberts business is surely far busier now than it ever has, due to all the hard work he and Dennis put in and people seing true value for their money. Seen the new building? Farkin awesome, full noise, 24/7. I'd also hazard a guess that Ohlins has a stronger market share amongst racers than it's ever had in New Zealand. Not because it's necessarily the best, but because it has by far the best representation at the track by two TRAINED professional tuners.
