He has been saying that a couple of offers were in the pipeline and that he was dissapointed (my word) with the money to race back here and oz.

I for one would like to see him race again in MX1.

Could be a good development rider...? The bikes sound great and have a lot of top end speed when I last saw them in '07, but didnt look all that easy to ride. Be interesting if he go's that way, though would be better if Husky or TM gave him a bike.

I think its rubbish , i cant see josh going backwards in mx1 developing
a bike for them, unless the offer was bloody good and the best on the table.
That would not be how josh would want to go out, will see .

Firstly I don't see why someone has to quit while at the top. I think its just as graceful to slowly drop down the ranks as you age, as to quit!! Wasn't that the way you came up??
Secondly if he's still enjoying himself getting 4th's and then later top 10's its still better than 99% of the worlds riders!
    Where's the shame in that!!
Thirdly if it is true and Aprillia are really really serious! They make fucking good bikes. Becoming there no1 rider and developing their bike for them, there's no shame in that either! If he can make top 5 results on a new bike there's huge kudos in that. If he can't he's still earning much more in MX1 than can be earned anywhere else!

Good on him, and good luck to him!

    Just my 2c
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Here is a quote from Priem about next year - sounds positive.

Aprilia keep saying I can stay, but until my signature is on the paper then I am nervous. Aprilia want to have three or four riders in 2010, so they want to go big.

good point , At his age now offers will be thinner on the ground so take it if its true. You never no his luck anyway, look at ramon when he got the title a few injurys and he just stayed up and in that top 6 and it came his way . A bit of luck and josh could still get a title you never no, he suffered from a fatige problem for a while there this year and droped down during the motos ,not like him he is a strong finisher. best of luck what ever he does.

Wouldn't be a bad move. Ride for a lesser known brand in off road, do pretty good over a couple of years and then secure the rights to the distributorship in Australasia.

    Jeez now thats a thought
