Phil will be ok on anything we do mate. He HAS ridden offroad before, just not recently, and he looks well comfortable on the Big; I certainly wasn't keeping up with him once he got the feel of the bike!

I actually think Phil would find Sutherlands a total blast, but he'll love any of that stuff in the 'Rapa either way, just being out in the middle of nowhere with us lot!
    Cheers, Dave

You should probably take this over to the welly or rapa ride out threads.

I'm itching to do Sutherlands again but am not going to be able to join you this weekend. Dads coming down to put the capping on my retaining wall.

    Tag on the Beach

After yesterday's trip I wanted to avoid all greasy clay so I went to the beach.
So follow the coastal track and you will see this structure from a long way off. You will have to cross some beach to get close enough for a photo. But don't be tempted to continue going to the sign on the next point, because the sand is very, very soft.
Amazingly I had previously been thru & returned using a Tourance.

The plan is my bike skills will improve if I keep challenging myself. Six months ago Paladin & I went thru the soft sand & swore never to try again. Obviously any skill or long term memory has deserted me.

This tag is still up for grabs, but the quarry gate is locked on Sundays.

You'd need to fit some good knobblies and would probably want to remove the fairing on your ZX-10 to get it.

This tag has gone stale after 2 months so last night I took the Yammy Supertrail for a ride to (near) Karori Rock lighthouse. Apologies for the cellphone photos but have dragged the tag back closer to civilisation, now it's only 10 minutes from the carpark. A lunchtime excursion anyone?
