It didn't happen unless you have a photo.

Lead a 600 k ride today out East of Melbourne that was full of twisties, high speed sweepers, tight flip flops etc etc.

What worries me now is people trying to keep up.......way beyond there capabilities. I've been riding for 37 years now (and i'm very tied now lol) 8 years road race training (Circuit Racing) the rest on public roads.

A good friend of mine (George) binned his bike today on the Reefton Spur, high speed binning off over the edge, bike crashed into a tree flipped him off into another tree.

I came running back thinking the worst after hearing the crunch, I thought he was dead.

When I had seen how he was wrapped around a tree on the ground and there were sign's of movement, I'm thinking he's ok......which he was to a point.

Points of interest :- (1) Where we ride we have no phone reception.
(2)George runs his Yamaha without insurance.
(3)This bike killed his brother!..........George rebuilt the bike and now the thing is trying to kill him

You don't sound like a very good leader.

Hope the guy is ok though.

A lot of people don't have personal responsibility. OP said that he knew people were pushing themselves to far so It's at that stage that a good leader does something to remedy it.

Sounds like the typical KB group ride recipe for disaster...

Fuck "the leader". YOU are number one out there and YOU are the one to look out for number one. If "the leader" goes faster than you should, then let him go!

If anyone thinks "the leader" is going to "take responsibility" and mend your broken limbs and bike after you crash, then I got news for you. He aint.

There's a big difference between leader and a safety instructor mate.

He was taken to Hospital and lucky for him, no breaks, just alot of tissue damage to his hips and legs above the knee caps.

Thing is he's pushing 50 years of age and to see him trying to walk was painful to watch, so his recovery will be slower and all he could think of was his bike.........
