    Well that's not happened before!

Today I cruised up to the lights before the SH16 GT North Rd onramp. First in the line, dry road (a first for the last few weeks for me), so I looked forward to a nice entry to the motorway, seeing the old tacho spin a bit. Now I am not a fast rider and keep it fairly sedate at the 100 or so K mark around the switchback, and have been overtaken by litre bikes on this stretch, but this was the first time a car managed to pull up on me out of the blue!

Those cateram 7s are pretty fast!

Repsect to that bobble-hatted driver (shame on me?)

the r500 caterhams are ridiculously quick. 506kg wet weight. 263 bhp. 177 lbsft. 0-60mph (96 km/hr) in 2.88 seconds with 520 bhp per tonne! Setup right it would out corner you and you'd be harpressed to out accelerate it assuming it was an r500 which it probably wasnt

I'm not sure what model it was - but it was quick. >0-60mph (96 km/hr) in 2.88! Sheesh, my bike could not live remotley with that! 4.5 in its prime, and I would think a little slower now after 21 hard years on the road.

Anyone else been suprised to find a cage up their chuff when they were actually moving?

I got a hiding from a fucken Honda Integra on Riff raffs SV650S a few years back. That was humorous in a big way. I think I posted a thread about it.

Chased an Audi RS through the Awakino Gorge once, lotsa fun. That thing hugged the road. Let him lead, just in case.....

Was probably A Frazer - they build them in Wairau Rd or thereabouts. Nice cars. Not sure what engines in them currently, but they used to have 2 litre Celica engines (suitably modified)

meh... I must be a real nanny lol. Couple of cagers passed me on my last roadie (last weekend) some guy in a late model holden - he sat behind me for a while (Gissy to Wairoa) I did completely waste him round corners and up hills , but after a while it just got too intense - I let him pass on a passing lane, couldn't be arsed keeping the concentration levels up - sometimes it's fun just to cruise. I must be getting old eh. haha.

    It's a Nissan GT-R
    Not a skyline, goddommot.

Also, very tight and technical track to be pitting the GT-R against the Desmosedici. They did the same thing with some 4wd car or somesuch against the CBR600rr/1000 on 5th gear. Not very fair
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.
