Not sure if there's anywhere closer but I get mine at VTNZ in Sunnybrae rd. Glenfield. They do bikes and are usually reasonably quick about it. Just don't go at lunchtime.

I just got two bikes done by Roger at Action/Atomic (bike wreckers) in Barry's Point Road, Takapuna. He's an excellent guy who actually looks out for SAFETY concerns when issuing a warrant instead of some silly little by-the-book stuff. (If you have ever had a bike fail a warrant because its indicators are flashing too fast you will know what I am talking about)

WOF only lasts six months. So why would you bother if your away for six ? As said do it when you come back.

There's Boomerang on the Coatesville Riverhead bypass, but I don't know if they do bikes too.

If you head down towards Wairau Road, there's heaps of places.

+1. He knows about motorcycles. And he doesn't fix bikes, so has no vested interest in the outcome.

Do it when you come back, and put your rego on hold for the mean time too, unless you've got more than 6mths owing on it. Not sure, but with putting the rego on hold you may forfeit any remaining time on the current registration.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
