The reports and submissions by the government have been pointing the finger at motorcyclists and making us look like an unsafe bunch. I think they are expecting us to go all biker on them so the non-biking public agrees with them.

Public opinion is what will win this sort of battle, we don't need to be seen as idiots..

Burnouts on camera on the top of a building probably wont help

    Thumbs down Go for it

Put em up I say, all for higher road tax on bikes. The younger riders who have a tendency to kill or hurt them selves may actually have to decide between keeping the car or the bike - can't afford both, and few will give up their bike or down size.
Too many older guys are buying a bike for a weekend buzz and hurting themselves, or killing them selves, hopefully making it more expensive will change their mind about owning one.

It may also mean cheaper larger motorbikes

So less people injuring or killing them selves, and cheaper bikes - All sounds good to me.
Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on

Very alternative view. And I agree with all points, however. And unrelaited to bikes, yet again the govenment trys to pass bollocks based on unreasonable numbers.

I heard today that it is quite the norm now for police officers during the shift change to wait around twiddling there thumbs whilst waiting for a car to go and do there night work in some parts of the country because the govenment ordered the police to cut down their fleat. Promises were that it would not be there frontline fleat, but it has happend.

The govenment can not keep covering up like this for bad mistakes, they need to listen to the other 4 million brains this country has to make an intelligent decissions for everyone.

I say raise the acc by %20, and bring in a $100 excess, it would offset the amount you had to pay for my round about accident :P

And yeah, I have thought about.. oh deer.. if it gets too expensive I might need to go down to a 250cc, Fuk that! hehe

Hamilton Ulysses as we all know are staging a protest against inflated Acc levies at Te rapa as mentioned by Terminaladdict on Saturday 31/10, note also that a similar protest will be held on the same day by Te awamutu based members of Ulysses to voice their views against these hikes, so if you are in this part of town & don't feel like riding all the way to Ham's this protest will be outside NORWOOD FARM MACHINERY CENTRE 859 OHAUPO ROAD
(start time @10am till mid arvo )

I have put a calendar entry for the Hamilton North School fundraiser for Children with Special needs event on 8th November. Was a pretty good ride last year with a number of us attending. Those not doing Hampton Downs come along, meet some new people and riders of different ability and age.

Anyone looking for a ride Sunday might be interested in going up SH22 and having a look at this:

    October 24th & 25th, ~ Labour Weekend ~ PUKEKOHE , NZCMRR Round 4 + T.T. ...
    www.nzcmrr.com/interest.htm - Cached - Similar

I believe entry is free?? If interested meet and leave from Kingsgate Hotel carpark 10.00 am Sunday - If not interested decide on a different destination on the day. Looks like a good day to ride - just need a bike!

I'm doing the loop tomorrow with a Auckland bunch (On the celander), so I might not be up for Sunday, will see how I feel, and how many KM's I got left before my next service! hehe

I would not advise the loop with a group unless you already know the group or you have been riding with groups for a while.

Should be a laxer but who knows I am still looping it anyways tomorrow.

If any of you experience laxy types who ride as slow as I do want to come along with me, give me a txt or something 021 025 25157 My guess the group will be around 10-15 bikes, majority from Auckland. Looks like it may be a sensible ride...

    Classic TT at Puke

A practice session and 2 rounds of racing including the senior TT, 12 laps. These are classic bikes, pre 1963 and they don't waste time, Murray is right, no gate charge.
It's 2 day meeting and I'm also going tomorrow, leaving about 10:30, pm me if you want to come, I'll be going up the west side of the river.
