Yeah, saw Pete at the Halswell Challenge and got a wave as I rumbled through. Transalper and the big-tank DR650, eh!? - World famous since ages ago!

Managed to get home alright via the Challenge station in Halswell, fuel tap had been on prime the whole night I'll blame that on my mate I lent my bike to recently. Was wondering why it was running a bit rich at idle lol, and giving it heaps on the way over can't have helped with fuel economy. Thanks to everyone who stopped to lend a hand!

Sal and I rolled by about 6:35 but you were all gone so we carried on through. Bit hard to make it on time with work but maybe next time.

    HOT by the way.

remember how andrew said that smart assed remark to you in little river? "helen, next time you're going so slow that I have to over take you, can you please move to the left?"

well I gave him a head start leaving little river and caught him on the hill, when he got to Duvauchelle I said to him "hey andrew, next time you're going so slow that I have to over take you, can you please move to the left?"

I seem to remember another incident that someone used these words as an excuse for poor riding style, I am sure that was after he ended up in hospital, think he got a few charges from the police over that.

Anyhow will be back from Greymouth in time to do next weeks ride maybe.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

If you need a leading bike to move over so as you can pass... then obviously its to dodgy to do so anyway, if the leading bike does not want to change their line then thats their call... of course that leading bike should always be awear of whats going on behind them at all times, curtacy is paramont.
    cheers DD

As a group of us were heading home via Tai Tapu and Halswell we passed an ambulance heading in the opposite direction( towards Akaroa). I hope that everyone got home o.k last night and the ambulance was sent out for a member of the WNR group.

Great ride over there, except for my cock up, missing the turn off and heading to the Black Tulip corner.

Turned around at Little River and got home in one piece. Had a few hairy moments on Old Tai Tapu Road, was cornering wide. (concentration was lacking) Decided to take it slowly from then on :S

Thanks again for the great ride. Where are we off to next week?

p.s. Anyone spot all the craps on the road on the way back?

I hear you on the concentration, I was starting to lose focus alittle, I guess I was getting tired. Like you also got home in one piece!

    Looking forward to next week!
