Yeah plastic bags can be serious. I was driving on open road one night (it's ok I had the racebike in the back) & I ran over this sheet of plastic or fertiliser bag or whatever, no drama, wasnt going to swerve int eh van just for that.

hen I notice the water temp going up up UP. It had sucked itself up totally over the radiator. Glad I saw that before it blew!

Like any good racer I instantly rose my hand which may have got the attention of the guy behind me who stopped with about 30cm's to spare. I actually think it was the handstand that I was pulling while trying to stay on the bike hat really got his attention...

After checking the bike over I noticed that the plastic bag had tightly wrapped itself around my sprocket and chain. Once I removed the bag the bike seemed to go fine and I got home in one peice.

I am glad that you posted this. I have received alot of 'unbelieving' looks and comments such as "are you sure that it was the plastic bag"... Those bloody things may be thin and slinky but they sure are durable!!

And sheepskins! I had one on my bike seat once for a long trip but when I stood up a little to release a rather large fart the sheepskin must have seen what was about to happen and launched itself off the side and wrapped itself around my chain and rear sprocket. I was lucky to keep the bike upright and not to have done any real damage. The thought that I could have been killed because of a fart fills me with ... something ... I don't know what.
