Nervousness is one thing. Nervousness coupled with shifty eyes suggests someone is hiding something.

We all know that Ixion isn't hiding anything but it's not us that Ixion needs to be convincing. It is the non-motorcycling public.

As Mikkel said, praise from your mother doesn't really count for much.
The solution to this issue is not to throw Ixion out with the bathwater, though! The solution is to give him more support, guidance, positive criticism and helpful feedback, as has been offered by others in this thread.

As mentioned by previous posters, he was making the common error of looking at the camera and trying to spot which one was on at the time. He has now been advised to talk directly to the interviewer and I'm sure he will do that from now on.

    Problem solved.

And having now watched it, I thought Ixion did a reasonable job. I did think he should have interupted the ACC numpty a couple of times to point out his blatant lyes, but otherwise, thanks Ixion.

Thanks Ixion for a great job last night . To all those who criticise if you are not going to do it yourself SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Ixion took on a difficult job but did really well. Someone needs to be a face and voice and I think he did great.

My criticism is that we received such a laughable amount of time to talk about such a contentious issue!!!! What the hell was that about....blink and you'd have missed it.

Just watched it and I thought Les did a great job. He didn't waver or stumble like the ACC boss, he was clearly informed, and was more than capable of reversing the spin put on the numbers by ACC. Well done Ixion.

Most of us agree that Ixion did a very credible job (and no-one is prepared to offer, with proof, that they could do any better).
In terms of that, and in terms of the ACC talking head, and in terms of what he was saying in terms of increases being necessary, did anyone notice that Ixion never repeated a single thing?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I showed the clip around the office (non-bikers) and the feedback was great! Most said that the points were made clearly and that the ACC guy didn't have a clue.
One guy said: "the biker dude knows what he's talking about"

There are always knockers, aren't there. Always someone to criticise the best efforts of others.

Usually the knockers are the ones who sit back on their arses doing nothing while others get out and do the work. We're all A grade players when we're in the gallery, eh...

The only good knockers are the ones on the girlies. The rest need a good kick up the arse.

Ixion, you did a great job. Thanks mate.

While I wasn't in the studio so cannot be 100% about this, I think the "shifty eyes" you refer to is Ixion/Les looking at the monitor the ACC guy was on and then looking back to Sainsbury. You'll note that Sainsbury also turned in that direction when asking questions.
(ACC guy looked pretty shifty himself, and he only had to look at one camera)

I have to admit I thought Len did a good job but i also understand media, wants and needs. I think if the spokes woman would have been the lady taking names at the meeting it would have been so far removed from what people consider "Bikers" to be it would have had more impact. Sorry Len.

    Nice work Ix!

Having a "professional frontperson" is one thing, but having someone who knows what the issues are and is able to debate the points and nitty-gritty, is another.

Just talk to the interviwer and ignore the cameras being there (as much as possible!).

Have you ever been in a studio with several cameras in action?
Ix came across as a genuine person in a studio environment.

Yeh I am with you. I thought Len did an awesome job and I sure as hell couldnt have done that but that lady at the meeting would put a different public persona on it and she spoke well.
The public viewpoint is easily swayed and we need to have the best presenter we can find (no offence to Len). Can we find a actor type perhaps to present the public face of Bronze. Can we afford to pay someone? We need to do all we can to kick ACC arse and the person giving the interviews is what the public will perceive us to be. Its real important. It needs someone politically savy, good looking, interested in bikes, passionate and agressive when needed. I"m only 1 out of 5 for that CV and that does not include good looks
Again well done to Len good on you!!!!!!!! I was impressed.
I'm one of the worlds best riders. I can wheelie, I can stoppie, I can stunt, hell I can get my shoulder down. I could keep up with Rossie if I wanted to race.

Then I go from bed to bike and somehow it all turns to crap.

Thanks for the feedback but I disagree. I am "the lady at the meeting" and I would not have done the great job Les did. I would have been quickly revealed as a shallow spokesperson who was put there as a figurehead but has very little substance.

Les, on the other hand, has a depth of knowledge on the subject unrivalled by anyone else I know. Sure, he could do with more experience talking on camera (couldn't we all?!) but he has already learned a lot about that through this experience and will do a better and better job every time we see him in the media.
