Can a not quite legal bike race at the Nats?

Hypothetical question which I have also asked MNZ, awaiting their reply too.

So I'm wondering if someone was to enter just 1 or 2 of the Nats events with a bike that isn't legal spec wise, would they be told "sorry you can't race!"

Not talking the latest spec bike but an 06 bike, that may have a slipper clutch added or perhaps aftermarket wheels for eg.

Do you think it would be fairer if they raced but got no championship points perhaps? Wouldn't want to interfere with another competitors National campaign.

There must be a few bikes in this situation and would be a shame if they couldn't compete given the low entry #'s from last year.

Personally I don't reckon there should be a problem if no points can be scored...However, if you take out another bike that is in the running I'm sure they would have a different oppinion on whether you should have been there in the first place!

in this case, other riders are spending thousands of $$$$.. they will be pissed off, if another rider turns up on a bike that should not be in their class, races, beats them,(or gets in the way...) and then says.. oh don't worry about my points.....

personal, in the national rounds... if not legal.. no race . end of story

Before you even get to the dummy someones using that deadly word PROTEST.It gets whispered round the pits then you get a quiet talking to that "someone" has complained so you can't go out with your "cheat" bits or an official protest will be lodged.

IN MY OPINION ---- MNZ view open SP as the premier class that all aspire to. So the last thing they want is for someone to be out on a faster bike than Stroudy and co.
Regardless of if they are or aren't taking points what the spectators live or on tv see is who crosses the line first.

Unless bike is given special permission to Race, it CANNOT be raced in National classes if it is out side of the rules! Simple, the rules are there for all people

Sorry man Ill try again-What Im saying is youll pay ya $300 and be told you can't go on track. Heck of a waste of resources if they aren't running some sort of clubie class which they don't have to do if the program doesn't allow it.
Think of it from the POV of the teams that spent tens of thousands getting a bike out there. They have sponsors wanting their value for money and someone goes out and on the day beats em across the line.

Clubmans quite often doesn't run at the Nationals as it isn't a "National class", it's up to the individual cubs what they run as support classes
