Photos are a great way of counting a crowd!

If someone has the patience, they could countthe bikes in those pics (well, count one row, estimate the rest) then send the pics to the media with the correct number.

[I breed tropical fish and the only way to count the babies is to take a photo of the tank and count how many fish are in the photo. Who said bikers and fish had nothing in common except their attention span? ]

I dont think the actual number of bikes will ever be known, everyone that was there has a fair idea as to how many bike there were. TV reported 3,000 nationwide the largest being Auckland. So out of the three main City's that held these events, Auckland must have had more than a third of the total if it had larger amount right?, making it a least 1000. Someone by me on the roof counted at least 50 bikes per row, or around 100 per bay.

I must admit I was surprised by the low numbers reported. I thought "Jeez, they had 500 in Nelson, where are all the Aucklanders?!?"

Silly me for listening to the radio media.

Klingon and the Scary Bikers Sewing Circle have got the transfers I've been making available as part of their fundraising for the cause

They are based on the designs below, and Klingon is distributing them - along with HiVis vests if you need them too (and you may as well go the whole hog and buy an armband on other stuff while you are there lol)

I did see one vivid'ed vest yesterday (another Westie biker I joined up with en route) that caught my attention that I might turn into another design.. "Shafted by ACC - Don't Laugh - You're Next!"

    The "Target" Design:

    My "Lane Spliting" special

Maha - was the orange jacket with the black target design on it (that was shown on TV1 news) you? Was that a professional print or using 'white' transfers?

I've been doing the printing for Klingon, and as long as it doesn't turn into a fulltime job, I'm happy to do more - but go through klingon as any small profits will be going to support the cause!

Thanks for the reminder, Maha. I will start a new thread on the subject.

And Phantasm has done a BRILLIANT job of designing and printing them! We will DEFINITELY need a heap more - they are selling fast!

Phant, I am about to start a new thread on the subject. Could you please pop into it and post those photos again, so people know what they are getting?

OMG this could be a full-time job!

Second option is a huge statement.... "they are always going on about green house gasses" and now this proves WE as bikers are doing something to help the environment by riding a bike.. I can walk to work too!!!! How do you get the Heavy traffic Viz... Klingon?? or?
