Nice one Paul "the axeman", good to see a Kiwi on top.

Merv
Cheers danger. Has anyone seen anything mentioned on any TV sport?
Does MNZ have anyone pinging TV channels with some kind of media packages to promote NZ's top performing riders?
Ha ha! Nice one, good joke that. Go Whibs!!!!!
Are Rugby any Rugby of Rugby his Rugby neighbours rugby players ?
Then they could fit it in the news somehow...
Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby Rugby (someone did something on a motorbike in America) Rugby Someone who knows someone who knows someone who lives next to someone who plays Rugby Rugby Someone who used to play Rugby who helped someone do something somewhere Rugby Rugby Rugby
The End
Good to see im not the only one that gets fucked off with that fuckin rugby shit
Maybe paul could wear rugby boots a black jersey, wrap sum stupid tape round his head and tape a rugby ball to his front gaurd then he might make the news?? Failing that he could try getting into drunkin brawls or hitting someone over the head with his purse?or maye showering with a bunch of naked men?![]()
Well... apparently we that pay MNZ fees pay the CEO of MNZ 100k to do the marketing and arrange the sponsorship.
Not a bad deal really when MNZ only have an income of 700k. Probably better to get rid of the money spender and use the 100k on TV promotion.
But thats another story.
Nothin wrong with the rugga you twats!!
na rugbys shit ,you twat!!!
Nothing against Paul Pav, but seriously what organisation with a turnover of 700k needs a 100k CEO. Let alone a Non Profit.
100k is to low to get a really good CEO, so I think they'd be better off with an Office Manager, sorting all that side out. Then outsource Marketing & event running. But I suspect that might just be a matter of timing.
Regarding Rugby, I agree leave it alone, it's the damn English Football I think should get removed, swap that out for Motorsport & we'd be sweet.

With any luck we'll lose the footy world cup again, so other sports can finally get a look in (just blaspheming a little bit KTMboy).
Seems like not much has changed from when NZ ISDE/2006 was invisible re media. I know it's easy to criticise but dammit, surely plenty of room for improvement with not too much effort.
I'll throw in the caveat that I am ex TVNZ, but I do think Off Road Dirt biking faces a few hurdles getting coverage.
- There are a huge number of talented NZ sportspeople, so alot of good news stories.
- Alot of events are in the back of beyond, making timely releases tricky.
- There are alot of disciplines & it's tricky to explain them ( Enduro/Cross Country/Extreme/Freestyle/MX/SX/Trials).
A mate who was head of the Wellington TVNZ bureau for ages did a good series of articles http://www.netco.co.nz/resources/writing/ , which if you want publicity it's worth reading.
Publicity is a skill & we teach riders bike skills, but do we teach riders/clubs media skills ?.
I guess being serious I don't think we'll change NZ's fascination with Rugby/Soccer/V8's, so as a sport we've just got to be better at promotion than the rest if we want publicity & bitching about it won't change it, there's not enough of us.
