i'm thinking its something along the lines of the deal with the Toyota hiace vans, they break them down and ship them overseas, there's just too many bikes being pinched for it to be anything other than an organised crime deal most likely some filthy gang.

A garage was found the other day with 7 bikes all in bits along with other cool toys. Steal them mix them up and paint them to be sold to people or traded for drugs is what i think is going on. Best way to fix the problem is with a 270 shell to the head ill even pay for the bullets and dig the hole

Sorry to hear about the loss of bikes.
1 question to whoever that can answer-
Is there any form of chip that can be secretly attached to the bike that would make the bike locatable? There is a service in the UK which sell you a chip to insert into your dog and they can trace that dog anywhere in the world through the use of satellite and GPS. My Mums dog has it and she pays approx £12 a year to have the service. I think it costs about £43 to get the chip in the first place. It has a battery which last about 6 yrs(which they replace and notify you when the power drops so you can take the dog in to have it changed)
Does anyone here on KB know if there is such a service here in NZ? This would let people get their bikes back and catch the fukwits that take them in the first place.
Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.

surely if it can be fitted to your dog the same chip could be fitted to your bike and the same people could use it to find your bike would be a good business to start up

id buy one if it was reasonably priced, but knowing this country youll pay $300 for the chip and $80 a month for someone to monitor it.
