Someone saying that the proportion of Maori that eat fast food on a regular basis is more than the proportion of Caucasoids that do the same might be a statistical observation, but I think it's pretty obvious when someone (not just XRV, pretty much a good portion of people in NZ) make random statements about it in usually a more informal way, it is usually intended as racism.

Who cares, people can talk about how righteous and non racist they are, but it's been proven again and again that everyone is racist to some extent

Isn't it a KB convention to write p/t when making statements like this?

That is a definition of racism. I think you may be confusing "racism" with "racial hatred" and a host of other things. I may yet expand my personal definition of racism to include "Much overused word, whose primary purpose is silencing dissent".

Also, I will freely admit to hate. I hate certain cultures with a passion. That however is not prejudice, because I only came to hate those certain cultures after experiencing them first hand.

KFC comments are not as bad as what Hone said, thats what started this, but they arent right, but it goes both ways as you said.

This country has a long way to go to sort its issues between races, aint much being done, so it gets worse. We are only a little country with a great chance to do something about it. I hope we turn it around but fear the Government wont take a punt and try starting a few things... they should try though.

I've been on the end of this shit before... an englishman in deepest darkest Scotland. Normal day to day life is grand, but when you really push someones buttons someone you know, or at least someone you've seen around the village and have spoken to, spits the dummy and starts screaming at the village folk to hang the english guy watchin the england v scotland game (400 years later... how old is NZ)... Believe the hype and it'll stay around forever! People make bad choices in what to believe sometimes

These cases might be a bit more similar when every scottish man has more English blood than they have scottish, but the government keeps passively asserting that the english looking people aren't as entitled because they don't have 1/34th scottish ancestry like the others. Probably sounds like I'm judging your situation and I've never even been to the UK, but you see what I'm saying?

I'm not English either, but I think you have a good point. There are no "Maori" in New Zealand. There are, however, people with mixed heritage, who choose to see themselves as Maori, conveniently forgetting their "other" ancestry. Why they'd choose to do such a thing...
