Having skimmed all these ACC threads I must say that I'm really (truly) surprised at how many kb'ers have not ridden in large groups before. Don't you go on poker runs? Don't you go on rallies? WTF?

I ride in groups of dozens or more regularly and hundreds occasionally. You pick your spot and stick to it. How hard can it be?

However, good on everyone for taking part and I hope that the experiences of late will make the next group ride more comfortable. There's nothing like being part of a big bunch, it's an adrenaline rush, no alcohol (etc) required.

I for one am working sat and sun this weekend but am leaving Auck at 7am on monday to head to masterton. Taking the Adv route of course. then will meet up with you all at the stadium. If you're working RING IN SICK!!.

If my riding ability was up to it I would. That Journey is just too far for me, I would love to be there on the 17th!

...and good on ya for making it through your first group ride... can be quite a scary experience - totally different to riding solo - suddenly you have to start thinking not only about your own position - but where is everyone else and where are they going..

it does get easier - I like riding in groups - so long as you trust those riding around you - it always helps if you can work out what they'll do in any given situation.. !

I saw that about 40m ahead of me. Was curious what that was about too......although imagine what 300+ bikers would have done to him had he knocked you off! What are these suicidal f-wits thinking?!

He's thinking - I could hurt them, I won't be hurt and as the victim they will have to pay increased levies.

So in the interests of one levy for all, I propose we find them and beat them to a bloodied pulp. Don't kill them though - just enough to leave them on ACC for 20 or 30 years

We had in excess of 220 here in HB. Lovely weather and a surprisingly well behaved bunch...I reckon they were scared witless by the tart who did riders brief! She's scary!
Sorry about your flag...I feel really bad....have pm'ed Madduck about it....it is being sorted as we speak!
