    I got one of those flouro reminder cords free with a disc lock, otherwise I think they're only $5.
    I cable-tied it to the lock and just flick the end over the throttle - never forget it's there, easy peasy.

    Nope.. Never warped a disc doing that Luckily in my case the lock was still fine - still use it to this day .. Melted key and all (lost the key one day, found it like a year later sitting down in a crevice of my Harley)..

    So I can confirm, an angle grinder with a cutting blade will do the trick. I got it off with no damage to the disc.

    Thanks everyone for your ideas. I'll get a reminder chord next time.

    Good to know I'm not the only one embarrassing myself when forgetting the lock is still on...

    the xena disc lock with alarm will remind you as soon as you (or anyone else) moves the bike

    It cost me a new speedo cable once. I thought I got off lucky, never again!
