Hi,

To cut a long story short, I have been away for 11 years and I want to try to get my old BMW going again that's been sitting in a shed. My former girlfiriend wants to use it to tour the South Island. The plan is to temporarily install a battery, then jump start it from a car. I have a bike battery.

I need somebody with a car and jumper leads and maybe an hour of his/her time.

If it's been sitting in a shed for a 11 years I'd take it to a bike mechanic before even thinking of starting it.

You'd want to get all the fluids changed, filters changed, new petrol, etc.

Starting it might be the worst thing for it.
