Half of those places are out of Auckland. Huntly, Welsford/Warkworth, Naike...

Ardmore and Harry are no good for those who like to ride all day and with day flexibility. 1pm till 3pm on saturdays only doesnt leave alot of ride time.

But hey its all good, just reckon it would be nice to have a few more options within Auckland.

    ???????

Whadya mean by fools?......also keeps the families away... parents trying to keep kids out of trouble by doing something constructive and together thats not either electronic or drug related... and on a budget...

What Reckless says above +1. Unless of course you've got a money tree. but maybe a park patronised by families would keep the "fools" away!

If there was a family camping area there that would be cool, and make the trip worth it. Nothing too flash, just a paddock and a longdrop with a couple of 44 gal's rubbish bins. Maybe near a wee creek too?. Over here in aussie, most of the riding parks have an annex where people can tent up for the night, because of the long drive to get there. Added bonus of a two day ride as well, no need to rush. Just adds to the fun really as you can camp at night and get to mingle with other like minded souls.

Some good comments on here, hope they're being taken as useful market-feedback!

$40 for a 50cc kiddie bike is steep, especially as the small kids have short attention spans and need an afternoon nap, so an all-day ride just ain't gonna happen. And they often have siblings who'll want to come, as well as at least one adult to drag them back out of harm's way and ferry them to/from. Kid discounts would count for a lot, but if there's no kid track that's academic...

To those who say we need more places to ride actually in Auckland, I hope they did the City Scramble! Though I would support a bulldozing of a few buildings in the CBD to make a 20km trail loop. Maybe Vic Park could be used while they're digging that new tunnel? Gotta put the stuff they dig out somewhere, right?

Yea exactly why I got a cheaper car to run

Think $40 is bit much, depends on how long the trails are

exactly my point! dome is open on weekends and riverhead got a few trailrides coming up but for some reason the excuses come out when either of them is mentioned

yes and those same people would be the first ones to complain if dome or riverhead were to shut down to bikes

I don't mind traveling long distances for a good ride and would be keen to give this place a go...But I agree with secondfield... if there was a camping / overnight facility it would make the experience much more fun, especially if JAFAS () are to make the trip down...

the domes a shithole! the new trails ok, but i wouldnt drive up there just for that , dont get me wrong im stoked to see these places open ing up and stuff, but like thunder park, and even kimmies, they are the kind of places you;ll probably only visit once a year cause they are just rutted, bumpy, dusty over priced facilitys, they get groomed at the start of summer( if they lucky) and then take a hammering all summer! and from where i am its a 2hr drive to either of those places! in saying that i do intend on giving these trail rides a go this summer as well as the usuall weekend mx.
