spent way too much time and used too much sweat trying to remove the back tyre off the CR125.
Once the bead is broken it justnt want to stay down in the centre of the rim, it just pops back out and wants to stay out. Making it impossible to lever the tyre off without tearing the bead or side wall. Valve core has been removed.
Any hints or tricks to get this tyre off? The tyre is a Deestar or something.

Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses

make sure the rimlock is undone!!! and start taking the tyre off at the rimlock, use lots of lube, dont be afraid to give it a good levering

yup, but when I break a side, the other side moves fromn the centre of rim to the outside, and the side ive just done doesnt really stay in the centre all the way around?
Ive used 3 different methods of bead breaking just to make sure Im doing it right, but tyre just wont say in the middle of rim

have wound of the rim lock nut, but rim lock is real stiff. To move the rim lock into the rim I need to lever it in but it immediately pops right back out!Originally Posted by flyingcr250

Sounds like you need one of those "3rd hands" the mousse guys use... can you wedge something (like a piece of wood) in the other side to stop it from popping back onto rim?

take it down to speedtech and talk to willy nicely might do it for you on the machine 100 kent sthave wound of the rim lock nut, but rim lock is real stiff. To move the rim lock into the rim I need to lever it in but it immediately pops right back out!

deestones were made by the devil, they are the hardest tyres on earth to get on and off, i have had to use our tyre machine and 3 guys to get one off before, and they are really narrow as well making it even worse,
take it to someone with a tyre machine

Is the Deestone even worth putting back on? it looks like a cheap piece of shit. Its coming off a wheel with a rooted hub but I want to use the rim. Tyre has only done ride and has a good edge.

got the mother off!
cheers for help. used plenty of wd40 and little socket pieces to jam the tyre into the rim well, 3 levers and some bicep work!
It was reassuring to know that it was more the tyre trait than poor technique
now time for ANOTHER shower!
