    Spiral Architect - Black Sabbath

    Keyboard/Synthesizer:

    Mind Dependency - Blindspott

    No Quarter - Led Zepp

    Epic Drums:

Disturbed - Down with the sickness

    Huge build up:

In the Evening - Led Zepp
Pay the Man - The Offspring
In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins
Careful with that Axe Eugene - Pink Floyd
    I Still haven't found what i'm looking for - U2

and probably all time favourite intro....

Intro's to me means that a few chords and I know what is coming

Here a few of the ones that fit that description for me:

Scorpions "Speedy Is Coming". After the second chord I am already in a good moode.

If the starting riff's dont get you jumping, then there is no hope for you... Judas Priest and "Breaking The Law"

Normally I love the original version. But here UFO's "Doctor Doctor" has been done so brilliantly by Iron Maiden that I give you this one. A lenghty intro, and the start gets you in a false lull..

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Yep, was going to say "One" but thats too obvious.

    South of Heaven - Slayer

+ Long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll, and about a dozen other acdc songs with good intros.

I know I'm forgetting an obvious one! What is it? It's one of those ones that always makes The Rock top 500 finalists.

Why do so many people insist that Paranoid is a great song? I don't get it.
I reckon its a pretty weak song, apart from the lyrics. Infact the only time I like it is when its being covered.

Randy Rhoads live cover of Paranoid on The Ozzman Cometh is just awesome. Wicked intro too.

This intro is epic (for a non-metal, non-pink-floyd-esque song) - 1:25 before the actual song starts:

This one builds up very nicely, with lots of pinch harmonics thrown in for good measure.

My favourite drum intro (foreplay being the intro to Longtime):
