No use shooting up on Friday - drugs won't help you catch up with us.

    Hopefully, I'm working on it.

Is anyone taking a car over from Chch, who also has a firearms licence, and could they take a couple of "items" for me. Cheers.

As there seems to be a number of people wanting to come along via Lewis Pass on the Friday I figured a post with “The Plan” needed to be made. So here it is …

    The route …
Woodend > Lewis Pass > Murchison for lunch = 268km
    From Murchison …
    Plan A – Murchison > Upper Buller Gorge > Inangahua > Reefton > Kopara = 173km Plan A

Plan B – Murchison > Upper and Lower Buller Gorge > down the coast > Kopara = 246km Plan B

Plan A or Plan B would be decided on at Murchison.

    1. 0800 - meet at Woodend across the road from the BP station.
    2. 0830 SHARP - leave from Woodend, if you're not there then it's up to you to catch up.
    3. I’m not stopping every 5 minutes for a stretch, smoke, piss, etc.
    4. 1st stop will be a quick one at Springs Junction for fuel only, for those that don't have the range to make it to Murchison in one hit. Woodend to Springs Junction is 183km. I’ll stop and wait, but will be filling up at Murchison myself.
    5. Murchison is 85km after Springs Junction and is the stop for food, drink, talking shit, etc. We should be there by 12ish. I'll be going to Beechwoods Cafe for a feed and a coffee.
    6. The reasons for the above are that I actually want to get there at a reasonable time, and too many stops can really eat into the time. The idea is to go at a pace that 90% of the group will be happy with – 100 > 120kph.
    7. If you want to tear off at light speed – no problem, go for it, we all want to have fun, so feel free to do your own thing.
    8. If you want to go slow – no problem, go for it, we all want to have fun, so feel free to do your own thing. All I ask is that you let others know so that we don’t worry about where the fuck you are when we stop.
    9. If you want to peel off at some point on some other route – no problem, go for it, we all want to have fun, so feel free to do your own thing. All I ask is that you let others know so that we don’t worry about where the fuck you are when we stop.
    10. Yes, I can be an anal cunt but I hate doing group rides where no one knows what the fuck’s going on and we’re stopping all the time for Joe or Jane Bloggs This way, everyone knows the plan, but everyone is still free to do their own thing

If you want to come along, just be at Woodend and ready to leave by 0830.

Out of towners – if you want to crash at my place Thursday night, just PM me.

    Any questions, just ask.

So you will be passing Waikari at about 9am via the weka pass, sweet, I will be warmed up and ready to hook on the back of the pack there.

OK, why on Plan B does it take 2hrs 23mins to cover the 37.1km from Ngahere to Kopara - are we going to be carrying our bikes on our back over that section or something ?

I don't use the GPS for the maps... just the speed and logs
