Nice! Good read

LOL!! I think all here may be a bit sick of that by now! I've been posting it up for about a year its what convinced me to but my 08 200exc.
I certainly find it less of a handful then my CR250 but I'm old and slow.
The theory still applies though, shivers even Ktm and Husaburg are going from the 450 back to a 350 smaller framed bike. Ah well each to their own the 2 hundy is a very underestimated bike though IMHO.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
Look at all the KTM boys and girls jumping on the bandwagon :P
Mate dont deny the fact, they're the best :P

I am sure that no article on the KTM site would contain any bias towards KTM. Spose you've got to have that opinion to keep you shelling out all those extra dollars for your bike and for the parts
This sounds a bit more balanced

Smoke 'em if you have 'em
You run what you brung, and pray you brought enough
Point taken but for me it was not the comparison between Brands that was the kicker it was the fact the 200 was so much a sleeper bike underestimated even though the riders thought they'd be faster in the other bikes no matter which brand, even after they rode it.
BTW your article is on MX bikes not enduro or woodsbikes so different. Was a good read though what struck me was how close all the bikes where with the riders basically picking the bike they felt most comfortable with not really because one was glaringly better than another. I guess it really does come down to the rider LOL!!

If you look in the right places on KTMtalk.com
i came accross someone saying that the gasgas wanst that bad.
If your familiar with the site, then trailtricks, is like a god on that site.
he is a suspension tuner from the states, has terrible english, but none the less one of the best suspension tuners in the states.
He was comparing the KTM 200, to other bikes.
Gas Gas are weight with all the fluids no gas, ktm are weight dry ,so abouth 10-12lbs diference there, new 08 ktm 200 weights 223lbs with all the fluids, gasgas 200 weights 227 lbs with all the fluids.
i like the gg chasis better for me ,the ktm i have to lower it 15 mm for fell confortable in the stuff i ride .In the power department the gg has more grunt , the ktm has more top .So the gasgas 200 sounds like it handles better than the ktm200, interestingGasgas/ktm 200 comparo: I rode few bikes this weekend ,2 300xc and w ,a 450 xcw and on sunday i rode the gasgas 200 first and the ktm after ,same loop (14 miles) cooler in the morning 42 and warmer on the afternoon 50's, went the gasgas has some more low end power and is more fickcable, the ktm has more mid and top end power .
we may just go where no ones been
