Lead story TV One News (1 Dec)

We are still in the media. 6PM News lead story
Interesting hypothetical motorcycle accident victim case study the ACC spokesperson responded with.

The same scenario would fit a rugby player who pays no directly targetted levy.

Comments on their website everyone please . Lets put them straight.

In the scenario quoted I wonder how often this actually happens (in the real world). There must be a hell of a lot of other 'hobbies' that have similar accidents with long term consequences, not just motorcycling.

at least going by that news story, TV1 might have decided its a better angle for them to be harder on prick smith than have been. dont think it was what B/E was talking about though, didn't match his description

motorcycles 0 - 125cc are going to be cheaper though?? that makes sense! you're much less likely to be injured running around town cause you're protected by your suit, board shorts or tshirt and all the cars protect you from crashing i guess

dont have tv reception atm, and cant seem to find it on thier site, just keep coming back to the one they played round midday, when they tried to interview the nicksta, and nobody else would comment.

Now just hang on a minute....
The middle-aged biker earning $80,000pa (coughfuckencough) breaks his back. So his earnings compo is going to be sizeable. If subsidising others is so abhorrent, why are they wanting to fleece poor me to pay for that rich biker?
Why o why can't the media see this?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
