The number of long-term weekly compensation claims is increasing,those from motor vehicles in declining, works increasing, this shows that people hurt in motor accidents get back to work, people that are hurt at work try to keep away from work as long as possible as they are increasing the most.

I did not get there to hear all the speeches but was there any ideas floated on how to deal with the increase when it comes in? I spoke to one guy who had 3 bikes and suggested he just register one plate and swap it which he had thought of doing. I am thinking of reducing my insurance cover to offset the increase. Another idea could be to just stagger the risk eg register for 3 months and put the bike on hold for the following 3 months then register for the next 3 months etc.

Cool, If you don't ride to work, for work, for travel and fun...I ride every day, to work, at work, for travel and fun....as I've said before, how many tickets would be enough?
Why should I put myself at risk of losing my license and my job because the Nats are trying to tax me off the road?
This only works if you have the money for 2 bikes, or a car and a bike.

The dude on the red nifty fifty with the fluro vest was a machine

all the way from Rolleston to Hornby he had the wee beast tapped out...... probably 40km/h tops, as the procession swallowed him up he just kept it pinned riding the verge, we'd pass him then as the bunch slowed again he'd just zip up the inside & make a few hundred metres on us then we'd swallow him up again but just kept on trotting along
