from chapter 24:
. . . Engines must be derived from non-competition motorcycles. Motocross, Road Racing,
Enduro and Go Kart motors and transmission parts are not permitted. There shall be no
restriction on the make, type or design of carburettor, ignition, exhaust, piston, cam, valve
springs or cooling system except for class eligibility. . . .
ok so that is pretty straight forward. If you are buying any parts that are designed for Racing/competition (apart from as mentioned pistons & cams) then it is not a legal part.
In fact it has cleared a up a grey area for me. A DS80 should be perfectly legal. As should for (for example) a pit bike.
But if one was to open a catalog & order some race parts, after market performance cylinder or head or whatever. That would clearly be a competition part. As we know they race pit bikes & there is a burgeoning market of hot up parts.
. . . And a Pocket bike is clearly a competition bike, not that you'd be crazy enough to try & enter one.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
