    Biggest ticket you DIDN'T get?

After Mad Ducks thread on being "demerit free" ... what is the fastest speed you were stopped/passed a "law enforcer", and talked your way out of it/ not stopped. ??????

I have been stopped recently (140 km's +) and given two pieces of advice ...

    1. Pull my head in an slow down.

    2. Fuck off before he changed his mind.

    Anybody can better that ???

Driving back from Auckland to Napier- middle of the night with a Valiant Pacer on the tandem trailer. un regd towcar, unregd trailer doing 120kmh down a big hill into gravel on roadworks trying to overtake big B-train truck.

got past truck- into 30kmh roadworks zone at at least 110kmh.
turns out that car coming down hill into the roadworks on other side is a Highway Patrol Car! lights start- siren- trys to do a U turn in gravel but has to stop for the big truck behind me,

I just keep fanging it past him -up the hill and over the brow - out of his sight. Then hurled the ute, trailer and Valiant hard right into the carpark of the Dairy factory on my right and parked up in the staff carpark for 1/2 an hour!

Ive thought of it many times since... exceeding 90km with a trailer no reg no WOF X2, 110kmh through 30km roadworks.....:
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......

270 speedo indicated, about 10 yrs ago passed a cop hidden about 10km out of Taupo on the plains. The guy I was following was a cop on a TL1000S, he did'nt see the cop hidden.
    Carried on.
Vaguely recollect him pulling out but dont recall him chasing.
So technically not a runner as did'nt see lights etc.

Of course I dont do things like that now.

was playing silly buggers with a mate following me home on thursday, took a back road thinking we'd avoid any cops on that road, 50k area, slowed down to 80 for a corner to find 2 bloody cops coming the other way, waited till we were round the corner and booted it home, not as bad as some but still a fright

130 Mph on M25 north of london. 6am on a sunday morning heading for dover, late for a ferry to france. 3 bikes pressing on hard, and Metropolitan Police had us on CCTV for a good few miles before they sat 1 car on a bridge over the carriageway, and 2 on the on ramp to give chase. I was in front so i got pulled, so did the honourabke thing and pulled over.
Got a bit of a bollocking for exceeding the speed limit by 60Mph, but seeing as the roads were empty, we were only a danger to ourselves, and flicked a switch on the radar gun to Show 99MPH (100 or over is an automatic ban), and as long as i gave him my license there and then he would only prosecute for the speed and not dangerous driving.

6 points, and 60 GBP fine and i was happy to oblige ( losing licence= no job)

Xmas Eve 2007 south of Shannon

I met a cop on a rise heading opposite direction, looked at speedo 140kph and falling, noticed he has pulled over to do a u-turn with lights on,oh shit!! so pulled into rest area and had helmet off by the time the cop had arrived..must be walking home

Cop-Sir do you know how fast you were going?

    Me-Ummm not really,was sitting on around 5000rpm

Cop-well my radar lock on to you doing 142kph

Me-yeah that would proberly be about right

Cop-Don't worry I'm not going to give you a ticket,I ride bikes too..just take it easy there is more cop's up the road...have a merry Xmas

Me-yep for sure Mate and merry xmas to you too....

Ok...so that last ticket I got. The HP guy asked me what speed I was going.

I stated 10kms less than I was doing.....but when I saw the flashing lights all I could think of was how the hell am I going to get home from here. Mt Wellington to Whangaparaoa is a hell of a walk. He caught me doing 20kms less.

I am sure not proud of it and took it was a big wake up call. I dont blame him for giving me a rather big ticking off.

50-60kmh over the speed limit in a 50km zone, plus three wheelies all in clear view of an unmarked police car (he was the first car behind me and I had no idea).

I has a log pushing pretty hard against my sphincter when the lights came on, I pulled into a side street and stopped then waited for all hell to be unleashed upon me. Instead a very calm Police Officer politely asked what the reason for my actions was, I said 'letting off steam because I had a fight with the girlfriend'. After a discussion and confirmation that my bike was not stolen as it had only recently been re-registered and wasn't showing up properly in the system I was told to get on my way, to stick to the speed limit and to keep the wheelies and stupid stuff for private roads and racetracks. Turns out he didn't have the radar on at all and so didn't get my speed, and because I hadn't done the wheelies around any other traffic he thought I had atleast put some thought into it.

From what I can tell the damage would have been 28 days loss of license on the spot, followed by a fine of $800+ for the speed, impounding of the bike for 28days so that incurs storage costs and I believe a release fee, and then court for dangerous driving - don't want to know what the damage there would have been!

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    Hmmmm not speeding.

But got let off drifting in my mates car after he told me too.

Turned right infront of the cop sideways as all fuck. He pulled me over asked me why the angle wasnt more and told me i sucked at drifting.

Then told me to piss of home and that he didnt want to see me out again that night.
Fear is never a reason to quit. It's only an excuse.

home from a coro loop one day - been @ Kopu having a ginger beer - headed off towards Paeroa. At light speed. Big sweeping left hander before Hikutaia. Well into 3 digits with a 2 in front. Almost knee down to get around an otherwise benign corner. Cop comes around the sweeper - I'm picking too much angle on the radar to pick me up. Saw brake lights - nothing else. Rules of engagement apply here. Kept the pace up for about 5 minuts then turned off just past the Wires Track Rd. Waited for an hour then toddled back to Kopu.

1990 = Over 160km/h down Blenhiem Rd ChCh..... stopped by cop & let go without a ticket just an ear bashing

1993 = Between bankside corner & Rakaia bridges.... over 200km/h only thing on the road, went past cop who was parked just slightly off the main road up a side road leaning on the bonnet of his car just watching me go past
