Not necessarily so. There is a bit of a revival in two stroke tech with the big manufacturers. Also like the Renesis rotary, two stroke tech has the best chance of dealing with Hydrogen.a classic bike to be sure

Two strokes will always be lighter, cheaper to manufacture, and more powerful....
