Ive just had the phone call from Pricey- he has been up all night of course. he and Kerry were at Middlemore with Daniel while he had his operation on his leg. Steve tells me that he is in good spirits. he flicked me an email late last night to forward on to you guys....

Sorry I am a bit late getting back to you but just got home from the hospital. Daniel is doing fine, he had an operation this afternoon, he broke the ball on the top of his thigh bone, apparently this is a rare occurrence but was due to the impact force, he had a badly dislocated hip and when he was x-rayed they found the damage. He has also fracture his lower leg so not a good day. The surgeon has pinned the top of his thigh bone and says we will now have to wait several months to determine the extent of the damage, ie if it will heal or deteriorate. We are hoping that he has not sustained any nerve damage and will have to wait a few days to find out.

Bit of a bugger, he was going really well up until this point, 2nd in class and 4th clubman overall.

Not too sure who was really a fault, the other rider said that Daniel was over on his side of the road, Daniel says he wasn’t. It was on a blind corner on a two way section, riders were supposed to be sticking to the left, unfortunately this did not happen and the rest is history.

Not too sure how long Daniel will be in hospital, not too long I think, he is in Middlemore Hospital South Auckland.

On a selfish note- buggered my 3 day also as I was leading vet experts after day one and had 3 good tests on day 2 up until the incident, loving the track and conditions. Oh well, always next time.

Anyway, I had better get some sleep and will give you a call tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Steve

Thanks cave weta. Hell, thats a very bad injury and no doubt a very tricky one for surgeon to work on as well. Pain must have been horrendous. He's young so hopefully he can heal up OK.

Woo finished the 3day.. Today was great my easier than yesterday. Tracks dried a bit but still were slippery. All the mud and water killed new ($160) brake pads on day 2 so today they were a bit squeaky haha

Finished up 2nd in class so was a good weekend

Preparation in any event is paramount.

I hope young Pricey recovers as damage to the growth plate is a major.

Congratulations littlewhittle, a result to be real pleased with. That's a big deal riding 3 tough days in a row.

If I'm reading results right, clubman did 2 fewer special tests - so we can't compare for overall result. Wonder why they did that?
Lots of good war stories behind that table of numbers. Wonder what happened to Rory, you'd think he would steam through this. Mech prob? Plus Heath Howlett on a CR500. What?

he was fine, i am pretty sure he finished the event, he said it was a pretty big impact and he was lucky to get away with little damage,

i don't think this is the time or the place to get into a he said they said over the accident, and any knowledge i have is second hand, i jsut wish the young fella a good recovery, i know middlemore is not the nicest place to spend time in,
