Who's caught a person attempting to steal your bike?

Hae, i thought id bring this up because a few months back i caught a guy walking down my drive way towards the gararge, he obviously thought we were'nt home becasue there were no cars in the drive way. Me and my dad caught him moving in on the garage. We asked him what he was doing and he thought for a minute and then made a bullshit story up about needing a lift to taranaki {we live in auckland by the way..lol} We didnt believe him for a second and told him to piss off. I then followed him as he walked back up my street {without him knowing} and he stopped next to a bush, looked around to make sure nobody was looking and then he pulled out of the bush a crappy old bike and a packpack of tools {hacksaws, screwdrivers ect}he got on his bike and biked off. I then still followed him and he saw me and biked off fast into an alley way and disapeared.

Then today a suspicous fella parked in my drive way and starring at the bikes in my gararge as i was ceaning them, he stayed there for about 5 minutes.....i then walked towards him to ask him what he was doing and he reversed out quick and zoomed off......

There a a few bikes in the gararge, Suzuki M109R, KAWASAKI krr150, and a HONDA CBR125R......so its worrying to see people wanting to steal them.

Has you guys ever caught a burgular trying to steal your bike or bikes??

Got a camera - if you see anyone again, get a photo. Also wander down to the local cop shop and have a chat to someone - get something on record if possible.

You don't tell people if you caught someone trying to steal your bike(s).

Just just put the bits into compost bin and leave it at that.

Have a camera handy and just start taking photos of them. Phone with a camera is real handy. If things start going missing you then have some evidence for the plod.

You'd better make the effort to lock up the bikes. get rego of the car and photo the driver if you can. I've alway made it a point to take pictures of strange folk who are on my property without a valid reason and I dont care if they know I take the photos or not... pretend if you have to and use your cell phone as a camera, then report this to your they cant help if they dont know anything

It sounds like your place is being scoped out.

I would take urgent action to secure your bikes for a likely upcoming burgarly. Make sure you secure them so they can't just be lifted onto a truck.
If you use a "chain" get that stranded wire stuff that bolt cutters can't cut (they use it for securing computers as well). And make sure it isn't attached to something that can be easily smashed off.

Go talk to your neighbours as well, and ask them to keep an eye out. Give them your phone numbers.
