No offence man - but it sounds to me like they will be back.
Quickly shoot down to a hardware store and get a little sensor alarm thing. Even if its just wired to the light switch next to the door they will have to run to it to turn it off.
From recall M10 had a simple battery sensor unit for about $60.
It is the season where sheds get raided.
I halve my tools through similar instance about 2 years ago - people looking at them. Even my 1/2 socket SIDCHROME set which was a B'Day gift.

Some of those ones in Alien 2 that automatically fire when they sense movement would be the ticket.

Late one night I was tinkering away in my shed, I hear a car pull up, then people coming down the drive, trying the doors on the cars, they get to the shed, try and open the shed door, By this time I'd scooted out the back, there is three of these big black cunts, I decide to spook em rather then fight em, So I step out of the shadows and go "What the fuck you cunts think your doing"

They run up the drive, clamber into the waiting car, I follow them all full of hellfire to the roadside, Car screams off.......and the fucker stalls it.

So I'm standing there staring at a car full of fuckwits, They are staring back at me, I'm thinking I fuckin hope they get that piece of shit started and get the fuck out of here, Otherwise I'm about to lose a fight really badly.

The closest one too me gives me the reverse nod and goes "Hey Bro,whats up". Then the car fires up and they tear off down the road.

    Lmfao.

I just missed the person that tried to flog my old suzy, I got to my bike to find that the ignition barrel was absolutely farked.
Pissed me right off, the Bike was immobilised, and it cost me a few dollars for the new barrel.
Now days my bike has its own locked garage, is fully insured and gaurded by 2 of the most ferocious border collies in Palmy.

thats sucks!!, my bike is gaurded by one friendly little fox terrior called bruno..lol he does bark though and take an instant dislike to trespassers.

Nobody has yet got to the bikes, and if they did it would take 3 or 4 people a truck, and good tools to take them. but i still dont let my guard down. -max

Border Collies and ferocious in the same sentence? What do they do? Lick the victim to death perhaps?

Never personally caught any one trying to steal any of my vehicles.

However my dog did catch someone who was trying to steal my Valliant at 2am one morning when I lived out in Flaxmere.

The dog took exception to theif trying to give it a boot.

Was quite funny really.... the offender just didnt stand a chance.... hehehehe.

Seems the "Beware of the Dog" sign on the front gate meant nothing to this scholar.

I was gonna get round to reporting it to the police but figured the car thief would do that once he got to A&E.

    Apparently he forgot too.

OP, I'd also consider getting a CCTV camera of some kind if you can afford it, or rig up a webcam to a cheap POS computer and set it to take a photo every 5 seconds and delete them all at the end of the week unless you tell it otherwise. Then if someone comes in, whether they manage to get away with the bikes or not, you have something to give to the police.

a electronics shop in Hastings had a set up last week(pamphlet in mail) cameras and recorder for $699? ,, think it recorded 180 hours before starting again ,, could be a good investment

I know of someone who caught some shitbag trying to break the chain that secured the someone's bike to a tree on Symonds St outside Auckland Uni.
To cut a long story short, the police found a bruised shitbag chained to a tree on Symonds St outside Auckland Uni.

    Hah, you were lucky.

Last time we called the cops after we saw a helmeted dude hop out of a car and try to screwdriver a bike, they got back into the car before we could catch them and drove off. The cops didn't bother turning up despite the fact they turned the plate we gave them for the car up as being stolen, and despite us telling them that the car was still driving up and down and up and down Symonds St. Because they "had no units".

Whilst there was a highway patrol unit parked up at the port offramp off the southern with his radar gun out, all of 1.5km and one set of traffic lights away...

I like rurally and are always a bit concerned that some one might try to rip my bike off. Got a basic alarm system in the garage. The garage door is drop bolted top and bottom. The side door has 2 locks and the frame and door is reinforced with angle iron. If they get in they will make noise and give me time to see them off.

The bike also has an alarm system and there is usually at least one other car parked in front of the garage. The garage has no windows.

You can only make it difficult for them to get in. If they want to they will find a way.

I also have a 4 leged securuty system, Ted the Terrier.

When I was a young fella some plonkers in Porirua tried to stand over me for my bike. It was only a shitty old suzuki 250 but I guess they were just trying it on, just told them to fuck off.

Probably doesn't want the bikes at all just the rego stickers. Those things are getting expensive now.
