Who has a tube of J-B Weld?

It turns out the outlet on my fueltap has been bodgied on with silicone sealant

Of course petrol has turned the silicone back into jelly and the 'seal' is no longer.

As very temporary fix I've redone it with silicone, but I've just read about J-B Weld and was wondering if anyone in Auckland had some that I could try to cold weld the outlet in place.

Before anyone asks the outlet is an L-bend that plugs into the bottom of the the fuel tap and usually seals up with an o-ring which allows it to swivel, but I can't see any reason it would need to swivel...

J B Weld is good stuff, hell I've got a GSXR1100 motor that about 1/16th of the crankcases is made of JB Weld, never had a problem with it at all.

K Mart stock it and you can get it on Trademe often.

I am amazed with the stuff and it has been used on all type of things around the house.

The most surprising is when I modified the outlets on my mufflers I used JB Weld to glue in the new outlets. I figured it would do as a temporary measure and I'd get it welded later. That was about 7,000 kms ago and they are still solidly attached!

My crankcase crack is JB welded up - it's been good for a few years now, and saved me a few hundred dollars.
However, the biggest success story would have to be my son's Fiat's glovebox. This was badly designed, with very weak hinges which broke. The lid's made of what seems to be polyethylene, which is a kinda greasy plastic, so I didn't hold much hope of the JB Weld adhering to it. Not only did it stick, but the hinges are stronger than when the car was new.
A tip when using it is to reinforce bits that need the strength. On the hinges, I drilled very small holes through the adjacent broken bits and threaded fine fuse wire through. I also used some aluminium mesh on some of the things I've glued with it, just to be sure.

BTW - if you don't want to buy it from TardMe, the 4WD place on the corner of Poland Road in Glenfield sells it - it was $14 last time. There's also two (2) kinds - get the metallic stuff (white tube + black tube).
