    Bang on.

Average 26 - 28hp at the wheel. I would imagine the weight would be the main advantage of a bucket.
About 125kg for a RG150 with a bit of gas in it.

A well ridden quick enough bucket will beat a poorly-average ridden 150 (as proved in the past several times)
IMO you'd be needing to push a couple more HP to see a bucket take on a well ridden 150.

Thanks Max for the info. Does any one know what sort/size carburettor these bikes use? 28mm flat slide Mikuni/Keihin?

It may have a fast motor but by the looks of it the handleing, brakeing etc will be suspect at best.

Not so much hard to explain, but sodin hard to understand.

They use the same casting as a VJ21 (first model) RGV250 but clumsily bored at the bottom of the carb so only a hole of 28 (or is it 26?). Looks the same from the outside as the 32mm RGV250 carb. Does anyone see the scope to cheat here?

I beat a couple of RG150s in the all in race at Taupo RRS on my 50 which is pretty shocking really.
Don't you look at my accountant.

thats not that suprising......you guys are forgeting that ss150 is mostly a novice class......and some of you guys are expirienced riders that know how to race properly. Its not your bikes which are faster, its your riding that thats beating them. These riders arnt even touching the power of there bikes. Sorry for pointing out the obvious

Yep, and I have never seen a bike checked either, kind of pisses me off actually.

Our GP's at the moment have 20 rwhp, last year they were 16-18, what is the typical rwhp of a 150? I would love to know if we are getting close to the SS's

In 2008 I was getting 117kmh down the front and pretty much the same going up the hill at the back, and expect to better it this year, will you be riding SS or buckets this year?
Any guess of speed down the straight would be just that, a guess, BUT it would definatley be faster than 117, more like 130-140.

I hope to be riding a commuter FXR, if we sort its current glitch.

Timing was fairly suspect, I allegedly qualified with a 1:19 but my best race lap was a more realistic 1:26.

The bike had a massive crankcase leak into the gearbox so was running really quite flat until it built up enough pressure in the gearbox to pop the breather hose off and all over my rear tyre.

Alot of the time I read you spouting shit but I do agree with this post. - however there is no doubt in my mind that given equal riders there are buckets out there that will beat a SS150, I just think the 150's were being a little underestimated earlier.

well people are forgeting the ss150 bikes are liquid cooled 150cc reed valve 2 strokes sooo yeh....they are fast, so it would take one fast {possibly illegal } bucket to beat one.

so your doing the TRRS right?

Yep, measured one the other day, closer to 26 than 28.
I see there are plently of names i haven't heard off in the 150 class at the TRRS. Wouldn't be too surpised if a bunch of buckets beat some.
RG150's are a pretty clumsy bike all over anyway.
I haven't seen a 150 actually properly checked for legality issues, in the North Island, in the last 3 years i have been racing. Simply because there hasn't really been a epic fast 150 what has stood out.

$130 + $70 for the transponder? Is it the long circuit being used?
