i like google images even better, re-learnt what a rotor broach is, I always forget what that one is for some reason.

I try and keep catastrophic failures to a minimum otherwise the workshop techs get annoyed so if ya want me to do anything, best keep it simple. Unless its on the CNC mill, that things awesome, and not in the workshop after hours access FTW

D'ya reckon you could mill me up some frame sliders? I'm imagining a tapered alloy cylinder with a rebated hole and an oversize thread on the inside to take a soft hammer insert. Hang on, even I don't understand that. Let me draw it.

Okay, so dimensions are approximate but this should give you the general idea.

looks like a job for a lathe, not doable on the mill, though the CNC lathe is being recommissioned I think, could pump hundreds of those out using the auto bar feeder

Wouldn't make it tapered, if it impacts on an angle it'll probably bend over and be a cock to remove.. unless you want to use like a 12mm cap screw ?

I made some foot pegs for my buddies rg150 a while ago with some 10mm threaded rod up the center and that bent a treat when he binned it..

would depend on what you are bolting it too as well, if theres fuck all surface itll bend regardless of taper diameter, though I'm unfamiliar with exactly how these bolt on, I understand they go near radiator, and on the end of the axels normally, but dunno how they attach? custom mounting points?

Yeah man good thinking, drill holes right through the chassis and weld in some bosses ? I'd pay someone to do that though

sounds like they make brackets which attach to different point on the frame/engine and you then attach a slider to that, makes sense, but you would need a different bracket for pretty much every bike out there.
Sounds like for the axles they use threaded rod through the hollow ones, or drill and tap into the solid ones. All in all sounds like a lot of work, so Ill just try and keep mine shiny side up!
