Straightening handlebars?

i bent a pair of renthals yesterday and after searching forum it seems i shouldnt try and straighten alloy bars. any new updates on this?
any preferences on new bars up to $200? sunline,renthalls,zeta etc.
am going to stick with 7/8 coz of roost guards. should i take the guards in when i get bars to make sure they fit?
by the way went from red to blue .wr250 06, man what a difference!

i would take the old ones into the shop with you,that stops the problem of that mongrel Murphy getting in the way and changing the size of the bars or clamps while you are not looking!

Renthal twinwalls are the best ya can get, I think they're around $200? Not sure.

That's a bit pricey for 7/8 bars.....they are at least 1/2 that price at Mr Motorcycles...................

Heres a thought - you only need strong handlebars if you're planning to drop the bike.

True that...for the record i have Twinwalls and when my bike cartwheeled a couple of times they never bent........in saying that i know that doesn't mean they couldn't

Heres a thought - you only need strong handlebars if you're planning to drop the bike.

If you dont drop your bike your not pushing hard enough.

I havnt bent my Tag T2s on my 450 or my old 125 and ive had 4th gear endos. Seen alot of renthals bend in my days of riding. There is a new bar out that has a 3 year warranty i think.............

you can straighten bars, but they will be weaker and bend easier, i have bent most sort of bars over the years, and snapped a couple of sets as well,

the fat bars are stronger for sure, and things like twinwalls are stronger again, i prefer fat bars over twin walls for a bit more flex

iv never bent my Pro Taper fat bars...

Easton bars have a lifetime guarantee not to bend or break if you use Easton clamps with them... there used to be an ad for them in kiwirider magazine, and always thought is that a challenge and a half or what

Given the right circumstances they probably all would bend.....I've had Tag,Pro Taper,Stock Renthal and Twinwalls and never bent any of them......maybe i was lucky and didn't crash hard enough for that to happen,i reckon just pick a brand /bend you like and i'm sure they will be sweet................

am going to try and straighten bars,they r only just out, nothing to loose. and if it doesnt work will get some new ones.they,re not far out ,just enuf that when the front wheel comes back down its not quite in the right place.causing another off i

f its on the wrong side of a rut.lol.i dont want to back off to keep the front in touch with the ground coz whatsthe point in that!!
anyway the new(er) toy is getting me a lot further up the hills than the older one.
